Re: Error posting from dvd shrink burn

You are using a program that has not been updated in over a year and is not up to date with the copy protection for newer movies try going to slysoft and download anydvd trial and that should work for you.

I think the first line in your post is the key for your nero you need to edit and remove it.

Ripit4me is free and will work with dvd shrink I for one think anydvd is worth the cost but if you want to try ripit4me here is the link

http://www.ripit4me.org/

The edit only works for a short time after that a admin person will have to edit your key out.

Re: Error posting from dvd shrink burn

Samlar,

Is anydvd a similar GUI to that of shrink? Is it as easy to use? Just want to make sure it is the right software to buy if I want an updated softwar package. Do they continue to plan on upgrading this software for those who purchase it?

Thanks.

Re: Error posting from dvd shrink burn

AnyDVD has lifetime updates & IMHO is the best there is & the easiest to use but you will still need to use a compression program like shrink or clonedvd2 is a good one. Also nero's recode is almost the same as shrink.

Thanks imkidd57 for cleaning that up for me

Are there any softwares that are better than anydvd for the cost? It has a 77% thubs up rating. Anything better than that?

Re: Error posting from dvd shrink burn

OK I edited out your serial key . You normally have 30 minutes to edit a post but after that it's fixed. In such a case you can always PM a moderator or other staff member who can do the job for you.

About the question of DVD Shrink: AnyDVD is a great program and will overcome more modern copy protections than DVD Shrink, but will not compress the ripped movie to fit a single-layer disc. In that sense the two programs are not the same.

According to your answer you have overlooked the helpful post from jbv. I suggest you have a look at that and take account of the possibility that the drive is not recognising the blank DVDs you are using.

Edit: I see we all posted much the same things together

Re: Error posting from dvd shrink burn

Hey, another question. If I have two separate computers I burn with, could I use the same anydvd key for both or are they not going to allow me to do so? Does anybody think getting the whole package deal is a good deal? Then you have free updatable software for your computer for many years and it is all the same company. DVD clone is like shrink correct? It does the burning stuff. Does it need nero also or does it use its own burning software?

Thanks.

Re: Error posting from dvd shrink burn

There's quite a few specific questions there, so I'll transfer this to the SlySoft support forum we have here...

You can't have 1 AnyDVD key being used in 2 computers simultaneously though.

For the firmware update on the drive, how and where do I get that at? It is failing due to not recognising the dang DVD-R discs I use. Any help greatly appreciated.
