Decryptor in conjuction with AnyDVD?

Admittedly I do not use DVD Decryptor to break copy protection but I have been using Decryptor to rip a DVD to my Hard-Drive as AnyDVD breaks copy protection. So I have been using both with each-other. Is this Unnecessary?

I have recently found that AnyDVD has the ability to rip a DVD to your Hard-Drive. So should I ditch the Decryptor? Decryptor serves no purpose to me if I can use AnyDVD to put a DVD on my Hard-Drive. No reason to keep Decryptor right?

Next question: Why does Imgburn advise that you disable AnyDVD? If you are only using Imgburn to burn an Iso-Image from your Hard-Drive I can hardly see how AnyDVD would interfere with this process.

I would say that there is no need to get rid of DVD Decrypter. It is a good program and it wouldn't hurt to keep it.

I also agree with you in that AnyDVD does not interfere with IMGBurn in any way, when I burn to disc.

For what I know, dvd decrypter is still one of the best ripper that place correctly the layer break so if you plan to burn DL discs dvd decrypter is the best for you when used with anydvd to rip in ISO mode. Then imgburn can be used to burn the ISO file.

Imgburn asks you to disable anydvd during the VERIFICATION process. there is no reason to disable during burning, but if enabled during verification you might get false failure notifications.

and technically, yes...if you use anydvd's ripper function then you can't get rid of dvd decrypter. the reason i keep dvd decrypter is because it rips DL images with the layer break intact (thanks to the .MDS file)

that's not whatn geno was saying. anydvd cannot rip ISOs.

geno said that you can use anydvd in conjunction with dvd decrypter in ISO mode.

Re: Decryptor in conjuction with AnyDVD?

Thank you reasonsnotrules and geno for clearing that up for me. I think I will keep Decryptor just in case I need it to do a DL back-up. It takes up only a small amount of space anyways. For DVD-5 though, I will begin to use AnyDVD's ripper function to get it on my Hard-Drive.

After it is on my hard-drive I send it through DVD-ReBuilder to create what I plan to burn. I really like this program so far.
