Re: Deadwood backup problems?

Disc dirty has nothing to do with the update. CRC Error's read more here.

(Cyclic Redundancy Check) or CRC Error

This can happen on various reasons:

1 ) dvd media is dirty - you can try to clean it
2 ) dvd media is damaged , you have to replace it
3 ) your drive is a region locked rpc2 drive, which does not allow reading of scrambled sectors from a different region and try to read a dvd from a different region.
You can try to find a rpc1 patched firmware at www.rpc1.com
4) your drive is an rpc2 drive that has not yet been assigned a region. try to assign one, or try to find a rpc1 patched firmware.

The link is there takes you too the firmware page.

To find the firmware you currently have use this :

http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=DVDInfoPro

Or nero CD/DVD Speed.

If it's not scratched or dirty I suggest returning it and get another one due to the manufacturer bad press (burn).

a knight in distress
doc to the rescue

seriously
try one more thing
see if disk will rip in another dvd drive
sometimes a particular drive may have trouble reading a disk crc error and another drive will ignore it

Re: Deadwood backup problems?

Whats up Doc? Deadwood rips without a problem and is on hard drive intact.DVd appears to have been burned but will not play or be recognized by PC.I have since backed up other DVDs without problem. But Dead wood still giving me grief.I think I will take 2 aspirin and move on to more pressing problems in my life. Thanks Kalmknight

Re: Deadwood backup problems?

Kalmknight –

Possibly your problem with you Copied DVD to play in your DVD Player and PC Computer is related to the quality of the blank DVD Media you used to make your Copied DVD.

Try using known high quality blank DVD Media to make you Copied DVD and see if you problem is corrected.
