Is anyone having issues making a backup of their Waiting DVD? I keep getting CRC reading errors and it won't even play on my computer (it works in a DVD player).

based on the limited information (ie almost none) you gave it sounds to me like a defective disc.

i both watched, ripped, and burned a copy of this dvd on my computer using anydvd (the current version at the time of this dvd's release) and clonedvd 2.8.5.1 (which was also current at the time of Waiting's release)

anydvd 5.9.4.1 and clonedvd 2.8.8.2 should handle this title with no problem. if you're getting a CRC error then it's a problem with the source disc.

I'm using 5.9.3.1 so maybe that's my problem. Thanks.

doubt it...i backed it up with a version even earlier than 5.9.3.1

like i said...it sounds like it's a typical CRC issue to me. something is wrong with your source disc.

THen it is odd that it works no problem in my DVD Player for the TV.

just because it plays doe snot mean that it copies.

playing a dvd and ripping a dvd involve different processes. it's very common to have a disc with scratches that will play but not rip...or even without scratches, it's common for manufacturing defects to affect ripping and not the play.



do a search for CRC errors and you'll turn up a few things you can try. if none of that works, i suggest you exchange your copy for a non-defective copy.

Have you tried ripping from your burner? I am getting the odd disc saying CRC error on the newest version of CloneDVD/AnyDVD through my JLMS but if I then put the same disc in my Burner it rips perfectly. so I am starting to suspect by DVD Reader is getting old.

Also try the AnyDVD "Rip Video-DVD to Harddisk" option
