Re: computer have a problem reading dvd-r

Ive had the same problem, would copy a movie on DVD-R with my Plextor PX-708. Then my PX708 wouldnt open the disk, but it would play no problems using Power DVD. I tried it on my other machine, which has a JLMS 165(liteon) 16x Reader and it would do the same thing as the PX708. Only my A07 would read the files on the disk. I was using AnyDVD 3.8.1.3 then have upgraded to 3.9.1.1 and the Px-708 has been able to browse all files on the disk, the JLMS 165 has only not able to read 1 disk out of about 10, but when I disabled AnyDVD it read the files fine. What ver of AnyDVD are you using?
On the both pc's i had trouble, both are P4's (1 with I865PE Chipset) (1 with I845PE Chipset) both running Windows XP Pro SP1.

Re: computer have a problem reading dvd-r

I got the same problem yesterday. After I copied DVD using ANyDVD and CloneDVD2 it was UNREADABLE untill I closed AnyDVD. It seems very strange to me. I use Liteon 411S as reader-writer.
I don't know if it something to do with that, but yes, that's happened with DVD-R disk.

I have no idea, why AnyDVD would cause this. Have you tried to reinsert the burned DVD?

Can you try to disable individual options in AnyDVD settings? So we can narrow the problem down a little more.

Do you have other software active, which might interfere? I am thinking of "Hide CDR/DVDR Media" type things like CloneCD, Blindwrite, Alcohol.

If you cannot resolve this problem, please contact SlySoft customer support. Don't forget to submit your serial number (Settings->Info).
They will send you instructions how to create a debug log, which could help us to fix this problem.

Thank you for your help!

Re: computer have a problem reading dvd-r

Sure, I reinsert and even restarted computer. I have CloneCD in a background and it's possible it has option "Hide..." checked. When I got home tonight I'll try to check all this.
Yesterday tried to download DVDInfoPro, but it's temperary closed on their site.

I doubt, that it is caused by CloneCD, as the current CloneCD "Hide CDR Media" does not work with DVD media.
(The new CloneCD 5 to be released next week will do this, and it will finally copy SafeDisc 3.2 CDs and DVDs, and it also has no SafeDisc blacklist problems anymore... but that is a different story and off topic...)

I would rather suspect an Alcohol / Blindwrite conflict, if you have these applications installed. They both have some function "similar" to CloneCD Hide CDR media.

Anyway, it will be helpful if you contact SlySoft customer support. They can send you the information how to enable AnyDVD debug mode.
Usually a debug log does quickly reveal the cause of the problem makes it easy to fix it for the next release.

Yes, "Hide media" was checked. It was enough just incheck that option to make AnyDVD to work.
Thanks a lot.
