AnyDVD Discuss, Compression problems with ClonedDVD / Anydvd at Copy Movie forum; Hi everyone, I am using Win XP, Clonedvd 2899 and Anydvd 6021. My problem is that I can copy only those movies that do not require compression (quality bar 100%). When I want backup a movie with the quality bar even at 90%, after a few minutes the computer freezes.

Re: Compression problems with ClonedDVD / Anydvd

How much ram do you have? processor details? It's not the programs so now let's look at your hardware or other software running.

Nero InCD or Roxio Drag N Drop or other packet writing software like these can cause burning issues.

I would highly suggest another 256 stick of ram.

Re: Compression problems with ClonedDVD / Anydvd

@ Gregg35,

I agree with Forum Member Dr. Who suggestion in acquiring additional RAM.

If you perform a Forum Search on the topic it will reveal that it is highly recommended to ensure a quality error free Burn that ALL Multi-Tasking background activities be curtailed when conducting Burning activities. This Multi-Tasking background activity includes ALL invasive Anti-Virus and/or Packet Writing programs.

The following are examples of packet writing software programs –> Sonic DLA, Nero InCD, NTI FileCD, Roxio DirectCD/Drag-To-Disc, CE Quadrant Just!Burn, Sony abCD, InstantWrite, Backup4all, B's Clip, NeoClip, InstantBurn. This is not an extensive complete list, there are numerous others. If you have ANY Packet Writing Software Programs installed strongly suggest to completely removing them from your computer. Packet Writing Software Programs are very invasive, cause numerous conflict error problems, and do not perform correctly.

To ensure that all Multi-Tasking background operation tasks are in fact curtailed check that ALL unnecessary programs are not automatically loaded during Window Startup. To check this suggest viewing the below Web Link that details how to use MSCONFIG to configure Windows Startup to load only the minimal necessary items. You will be surprised at all the unnecessary Memory and Resource wasting items that are automatically loaded during Windows Startup. Quite possibility you have some unnecessary item automatically loaded during Windows Startup that you are unaware of that could be interfering with the proper operation of your CD/DVD Burning software program that could be causing your problem.

http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/

Also have you ensured you don’t have invasive SpyWare inadvertently installed on your computer, which can interfere with the proper operation of CD/DVD Burning software program? Suggest visiting Spybot Search & Destroy (http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html).

Re: Compression problems with ClonedDVD / Anydvd

I second the Doc's suggestion ... 256MB is pretty minimal amout of ram these days and you don't want compression functions going to swap file ... too slow... messes up timing.

also, depending on where you are in the world, if it is a hot summer there, your processor may be overheating. You can take the case off, blow out any dust and then just point a table fan on the processor until you can get out to buy some case fans.

Re: Compression problems with ClonedDVD / Anydvd

This is definatly a hardware problem, not Skysoft's products or all would be having this issue. I use 512 ram and have no problems. But I am using 2.4 gig processoer too. so if the ram isn't the issue maybe need a stronger processor? Help feedback on this please?

Re: Compression problems with ClonedDVD / Anydvd

@ Gregg35,

Great to hear that you did took the advice of Forum Members and increased your RAM to 512MB.

Perchance did you note my additional comments in my #5 posting? If so did the suggestions I provided produce any positive results?

Perchance did you note Forum Member Whisperer1 comments in his #6 posting? If so what was the results of his suggestions concerning possible processor overheating?

Best Regards,
bjkg

Double Posting

@ Gregg35,

Suggest viewing the CD Freaks Forum Rules (http://club.cdfreaks.com/announceme...nouncementid=37) and note the comments concerning Double Posting. You have made Double Postings in both the CD Freaks AnyDVD Forum and CD Freaks CloneDVD Forums. Double posting is against Forum Rules, doesn’t get your inquiry answered any quicker, causes confusion and is discourteous to Forum Members who respond to your posting.

Suggest viewing your CD Freaks CloneDVD Forum posting titled “CloneDVD and Compression problems” for knowledgeable Forum Member Tru response to you inquiry.

With your insistence in making Double Postings in two different CD Freaks Forums has caused confusion and makes it difficult in understanding exactly what is transpiring with you troubleshooting efforts.

Best Regards,
bjkg

Before you know it you have changed every piece of your hardware and still the problem persist, before be convinced that this is not DVD Clone or Any DVD problem go ahead use the same process with another program (e.g. DVD shrink+Nero, DVD Decrypter, Nero recode) then find out if the problem is with your HW or SW program.

Re: Compression problems with ClonedDVD / Anydvd

I'll have to agree with TCAS on this so far pSU problems would mean problems all the time without the use of Slysofts products.
