Thank you for the explanation. I've never realized that's where those kuel little pictures come from. I just thought I had remembered reading something about a weird problem on those discs that they didn't rip right. Must have been something else. Thanks again!

My recommendation is to ALWAYS select the 6 channel audio. It'll play even on a 2 channel system. The 2 channel audio streams are usually for extra features and, as you've recently learned, director's commentaries.

As usual you saved the day. Thanks alot and I am sorry for my misdirected comments, but I really saw the directors talking not just heard him, I saw him.

Hey Samuri do you have any idea why it might pixelate a little at various parts of the movie. There not green or anything just sorta breaks up a little with sorta lines and spots every once in a while. I have never had this problem before.

Yes, the way to backup this movie is with the 6 channell audio, I have never used this before because the 2 channell is the default, but as you said it works just fine, my mistake, sorry to all, and thanks for the help.

Does it happen on the disc you wrote or while playing from the hard drive? I would try to play it from the hard drive and see if it still happens. If so, you may have a media issue. If it does it from the hard drive, as well, there may be another issue.

It's so definitely not a problem. We all have to learn. This stuff can be confusing at times so do not be afraid to ask if you have a problem. I'm just glad it turned out to be something simple and not some overly complicated mess of a problem. lol

Re: The Cave

Thank for the reply Samuri its seems to do it a little also on the HDD but really cant tell as much as on the TV. I just thought that maybe it was some of the error sectors that might have been filled during the rip. Dont think it could be the media cause there Yuden's and i also use MIJ Maxells and the burners anre Benq 1640's .Could just be my laser in the player is getting weak or something maybe i will turn off progressive and see if that helps.

Good luck. I haven't watched it yet so if for some reason I run into similar problems I'll let you know. Probably won't get to watch it til this weekend though.

Re: The Cave

@Defiant1
when you burn try a lower speed and turn off all other programs esp virus checkers, spy checkers and other scanners
unless you have dual processor type pc don't even look at the pc
prior to a burn do ctrl+alt+del and shut all superfluous proggys down
I even turn everything off prior to a rip and enable anydvd slow and quiet speed
Hope that helps

Hey, back to this jacket folder thing please. What is this feature called? I have a JVC single disk player and a JVC 7-disk changer and I want to go into setup to see if I can turn on support for this feature. But I don't know what its called and JVC has alot of options to wade through in their player setup menus.

Does a CloneDVD backup even copy the jacket folder? I know it does not copy stuff like online, autoplay and ROM features.

And I join SamuriHL in also thanking you for that explaination. Been seeing the "movie camera icons" in explorer for some time (when I check the data size and authoring of an original) but never knew what they were for!

Re: The Cave

The good thing about this movie is it can be backed up at 100% Quality on a single-Layer DVD-/+R (Movie-Only).

As SamuriHL posted, I also had no problem with this disc but I did rip to my HD first before writing it to DVD+R DL. I am not a protection expert, but this one seemed pretty nasty but AnyDVD still wins.

Well, I have a Toshiba single disk player. I go to Display -> Background, and it has 4 options for me to choose: Blue, Gray, Picture, Jacket. Picture is just Toshiba background. So I choose Jacket. If you don't find something similar in your dvd player's setup, then your player does not support it.

I don't think so. If it does, you'll notice this from the many backups you made. Now this would a great feature addition to CloneDVD that no other software has implemented. Besides, the file size is negligible and won't affect quality at all. And it doesn't hurt to be in the backup either if your dvd player does not support it. Who knows, in the future, you're getting another dvd player that might support it.

btw, you can view this background image by playing the largest mp2 file in Windows Media Player.

It's easy enough to just copy the JACKET_P folder to the backup copy IF you write the CloneDVD output to the hard drive first. I'm not sure if you would then have to burn it with something else or not. I almost always burn with CopyToDVD anyway, so, for me it's no big deal. I'm not sure if CloneDVD's write existing data would pick up that folder or not.

Re: The Cave

I used AnyDVD 5.7.3.1 and DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 to copy to my hard drive and after Recoded with Nero 2 and just work perfect, copied the whole movie with the extras.

Re: The Cave

Funny Story about this title. Buddy of mine at work swears by DVDFab and he thinks it is superior to AnyDVD & CloneDVD2. I told him about "The CAVE" being heavily copy protected and he said DVDFab would tear it up. He called me a little while ago and said his backup did,nt work...said it would play if you skipped beyond Chapter1, but would freeze at startup when playing from the beginning. He did,nt know what to say when I told him I got a perfect backup the first time using Slysofts products..LOL

He still refuses to purchase AnyDVD & CloneDVD since he already bought DVDFab, so I guess he loses. He even asked me to make him a backup and I refused..LOL I just could,nt. I thought this was funny and wanted to share. SLYSOFT ROCKS!!

* This post is not intended to belittle DVDFab or it's Authors as I am sure an update will fix this, but it just made me laugh and I had to post it.
