Interesting first post. Are you drunk?

I too am having problems copying the FULL DVD using AnyDVD w/ DVD Shrink. However, although DVDFab successfully copies the full dvd to my HD, DVD Shrink then gives me an Out of Memory error when trying to compress it! It seems to run out of room in the page file, which I let grow to about 2gb.

Is there a way I can get DVD Shrink to handle the whole DVD? It works fine if I take the movie only.

To chrisgin I also could not backup the whole disc with anydvd and dvd shrink , I installed the latest ver of dvd CSS region free 5960 and ripped the whole movie using shrink and compressed fine no out of mem error also backed up bewitched no probs but I am sure slysoft will fix their prob with shrink and anydvd soon .

If you already have the full movie on the harddrive then download and try Clonedvd2 or one of the 1Click products and it should work fine for you! Both products can be tested before you purchase!

1. We've seen NO indication that Madagascar uses RipGuard. It looks like Arccos. In fact, if it DOES use RipGuard, that pretty much makes RipGuard look sillier than we thought it would look.

2. Stopping DVD X Copy - a program that hasn't been updated in 3 years - is pitiful.

3. Macrovision sucks donkey cock.

I'm not sure I fully agree with that statement. James from Slysoft seemed to indicate that he thought it was RipGuard. As has been said before, there's only so much you can do with current DVD technology and still have it be readable in "most" stand alone DVD players. (Macrovision's words, not mine...however, if I was the owner of one of the players it DIDN'T work in, I'd be pretty pissed) The fact that it looks like ArCCOS in and of itself doesn't mean much...it could be that ArCCOS and RipGuard are fundamentally similar in their approach. It's also been said that this may just be the studios dipping a toe in the water to see how much of a problem it really poses to the community. In that case, we may see "improvements" (such as they are) in the future. How nice. If this is RipGuard that we're seeing, then, a collective ::YAWN:: is in order. (And a mighty big THANK YOU to Slysoft, might I add) If it's not RipGuard, then we have much to look forward to.

Well, if it works for them, great, by all means continue. DVD Shrink is in the same boat...not updated, but, it's still a useful program. Personally I wouldn't bother as I'm a CloneDVD2 and DVD-RB fan myself, but, to each their own. Would *I* ever use that software? Um, what are the words I'm looking for....uh, HELL NO. But that's just my opinion.

Well, there is a first time for everything and per the 'Forbes' article and James' intuitive prediction I believe you HAVE now seen RipGuard.

Although, it seems there is more Bark than Bite in it's highly touted abilities.

This is the sure fire way to rip Madagascar

First Enable Any DVD

Second Start DVD Decrypter

Third Decrypt All Files To Hard Drive

Fourth Once All Files Are On Hard Drive Open Up DVD2ONE 1.5.2 and Compress Them.

This Will Get You The Complete Movie.

Once Finished Just Burn The Files With Nero

There is a small difference that I have seen between this movie and ARccOS corrupted movies; This movie has a corrupted cell in a different PGC than the main movie. From what I have seen with ARccOS movies, the corruption is always in PGC 1 (the main movie).

What this approach does, is make it more difficult for those that do not have AnyDVD or DVDFab to copy the movie. However, Decrypter seems to be able to rip the movie in ISO mode and even in File mode, so it seems like Macrovision has failed. For those that try it through Decrypter in File Mode, make sure you use VobBlanker to blank out PGC 2, 3, 4, & 5 of VTS_08. PGC 5 seems to have the protection, but I do not know for sure as I do not have the movie, so just blank the four of them.

The same may be true for those that use AnyDVD. Try using VobBlanker to blank those PGCs and it may fix the main menu.

works flawlessly with dvddecrypter(read iso) then open iso with dvdshrink and boom,perect full backup everytime.i did this method 3 times on 2 different source discs and never had a flaw.

oh and i spent 3 days off and on on this 1,downloading a bunch of dvd tools and in the end it worked with the ol reliable tools i bin using for yrs.gotta love freeware..

I have finally received my own copy of "Madagascar" WS R1 (US).
Here are my results:

1.) As we all know by now, Madagscar has RipGuard. It is not the first RipGuard disc which could be copied, the first was "Vet Hard" R2 (Netherlands).
2.) AnyDVD 5.4.1.1 and up can copy RipGuard fine together with elby CloneDVD2. I tried Madagascar, but I splitted the disc, of course:
Movie & Menus on Disc 1, Extras & Menus on Disc 2. Everything worked fine, including the interactive games!
3.) I made a quick test with DVDShrink and found no problems.
4.) As some people have reported, if is not possible to drag & drop the disc to harddisk using AnyDVD. There is an additional protection in VTS_08_1.VOB. A similar protection is present in "Vet Hard", but I never had this disc myself (only cracking from IFOs), so I didn't notice.
The next AnyDVD version will fix this problem, then you will be able to copy to harddisk with Explorer without any problems.
5.) Next version of AnyDVD will support a new Arccos version as well.
6.) I have already a test version of AnyDVD running which works very good.

We will not release a public beta version as it seems to cause confusion. Our support people get many emails concerning beta versions and customers are complaining that they have not received update notifaction. This is not acceptable.

Well that's no good. Understandable from your perspective, I realize. Is there any way we can convince you to do a closed beta program where we get a beta email from you? That keeps it out of the public eye but still gives you the possibility of wider spread feedback before a full blown public release. Would that be possible?

We plan to release beta versions in the future, but we will do it in a closed (or "half open") beta program.

Same Here. I guess maybe make a post on 'WHO' wants to be emailed of Beta's and post their email addy's...That should solve any current issues.
