Can't rip Into the Blue

I know there is already a thread about Into the Blue but I ain't interested in deleted scenes,,,I just wanna be able to make a copy but I can't.
I have tried using Anydvd 5.6.3.1 with Dvd Shrink and DvdxCopy but no go..
I have tried using VobBlanker with AnyDvd to copy to hard drive and still no go,,
Anydvd doesn't show any copy protections like bad sectors , Arcoss, or Ripguard....
could it be that I have purchased a defective retail copy?

It is possible that you have purchased a defective copy but why not download a copy of Clone DVD2 from Slysoft and give it a go in conjunction with Any DVD. I haven't found anything yet that can't be backed up!

I love posts like this. Let's get this straight. You were smart enough to buy and install AnyDVD, but not smart enough to remove DVD X Copy from your computer?

Try just copying the files using Windows Explorer. Drag the VIDEO_TS folder to your desktop. See if that works.

What errors are you getting?

Re: Can't rip Into the Blue

all you told us is that you can't back it up.

we don't have enough info to make any suggestions. it's always possible that you got a defective copy, but just to be sure, what error messages are you getting?

is the error in the same spot each time?
is the error in the same spot regardless of the program used?

if so, that would point to a defect in the disc. if you've tried cleaning it then chances are teh defect is in manufacturing and others from the same batch would have this defect as well. I'd still try to return it for a new copy.

other things to try:
another drive
another computer
setting drive speed control in anydvd to "slow & quiet" (sometimes this helps out by giving the drive a chance to read a difficult area as opposed to flying over it and just reporting errors)

and the last resort would be to exchange it.

you didn't really give us a whole lot of info to go on. the advice would be more specific if we knew what was going on on your end.

and as the previous poster suggested, I haven't run across any titles that I can't copy with the anydvd clonedvd combo (unless it's defective of course)

Re: Can't rip Into the Blue

Tx, try Gurm's suggestion, as the DVD X copy could cause some kind of conflict. I just made a backup of "Into the Blue" with AnyDVD 5.6.3.1 and 1clickdvdcopy, and there were no 'exotic' copy protections or anything; I ripped it in my Plextor 716a, saved the decrypted copy to the hd, made sure it played with no trouble on PowerDVD6, then wrote the "DVD video" with VSO CopyToDVD on my BenQ1640, and violà--a single layer DVD playing flawlessly.

FYI, if in the future you use AnyDVD, then play your hd copy and find that it won't play b/c of some kind of protection, send Slysoft a copy of your log, with what format (PAL, NTSC) the movie was in, region, screen format (widescreen or full-screen), and they'll have an updated program in 3 days probably.

Tried dragging VIDEO_TS folder and error occured when copying VOB_7...everytime..
Got a different copy and copied fine using AnyDvd and DVD X Copy..yes DVD X Copy's engine is outdated but it works sometimes. Plan on buying Clone DVD soon. Thanks.

Re: Can't rip Into the Blue

Make Sure You have your AnyDVD Updated to 5.7.2.1. If I remember correctly you had an earlier version of AnyDVD Go to their website and make sure you update your Paid copy of it. You should make an ISO Image of it with any of imaging software and then burn that image to a DVD+R. I did it this way and worked fine. If Don't Work I don't Know what to tell ya cause worked for me. Hope This helps.

Re: Can't rip Into the Blue

Into the Blue is a very hard movie to copy, I used AnyDVD 5.7.3.1 plus DVD Decrypter to copied to my hard drive but when I try to Burned none of my two Burners work, I usually use Nero 7. Ultra edition, but this time didn't do the job, but after rebooting my computer a couple times, I was able to burned with another Software.
My point is AnyDVD & DVD Decrypter work very good they make the perfect couple.
