burning speed

i have a dell 8250 with any nec 1100a that seens lately to be stuck in 2.4x burning speed i tried different media no help i triied other burning programs no luck firmware is 10ge from dell tried removing the ide channel from device mgr in win xp and re added it no help running winxp pro sp2 problem happend before sp2 was installed any ideas

have you checked to see if DMA is enabled on your drive?
