Re: burning problem ?

See im using the two versions down from the recent version of anydvd. It works fine. If i upgrade I get a no dvd drive found. I am pissed but learned to wait until anydvd fixes there software. I know its just not me with these issues as well. BTW I backed up Lakehouse and worked fine for me at the time when the current anydvd was out.

Re: burning problem ?

well i just dont understand y i have a problem burning dvds made by sony... it seems like i cant backup them. other dvds like lakehouse they burn perfectly. if i turn the dvd over its like half burnt. it just seems like it gets stuck midway.

Re: burning problem ?

xxkrazyfrogxx

I have the Nero Suite but don't use it for DVD work.

I can see a couple of things to suggest though.

You don't have a huge amount of free memory which might suggest you have other applications running in the background. You might want to see if there is anything that you can turn off during the backup process.

Can't explain why it only fails to burn the Sony movies but I would suggest lowering your burn speed to half your media's rated burn speed to see if this improves things for you. So at the moment you are using Sony 16x media --- slow the burn speed down to 8x

Re: burning problem ?

Does not appear to be an AnyDVD problem since AnyDVD does not burn nor participates in burning.

Re: burning problem ?

Definitely slow the burn speed down.

I very rarely burn 16x media at 16x unless it's for media testing purposes.

As Alex said, slow it down to 8x - or 12x might even help.

^^ That does point to a possible problem with the media, so slowing the burn down may be all that's required.

Re: burning problem ?

I use Any DVD and Clone DVD 2 and burn at 16x . Ram has a impact on how well your system can handle intense processes such as ripping and burning. Not to mention processor speed. I have not tried to back up the movies you are having troubles with. To eliminate a problem with your saoftware or hardware try to back up a different DVD and see if it works.

Re: burning problem ?

For backups I will normally burn at half the media's rated speed but for testing drives/media or programs I tend to use 16x

Re: burning problem ?

Glad it worked, xxkrazyfrogxx

As for the speeds I burn at - 8x or 12x, except when testing media/drives, then I may do 16x.

Your problem though, supersam2008, is that you're using a crack:
