Re: Blades of Glory

Alan
agree
SS is doing people a favor by not quickly updating AD or CDvd for this crappy title
No use treating the original dvd disk like gold
After your first view, most will never watch it again
So the original will stay in permanent pristine condition
unless some really wants 2 copies real bad

Re: Blades of Glory

The message I received fron clonedvd was a structure problem with the dvd. I searched this forum and people said to use different programs and wait for slysoft to update. I first tried dvd fab platinum version 3.1.7.5 -It seemed to work but it did not work properly.
Late yesturday they came out with version 3.1.7.6 and it worked Perfectly. If you cant wait for slysoft to update you can use a trial version of dvdfab 3176. It may take a few days for slysoft to update anydvd. Good luck.

Use anydvd & DVD neXt COPY, there is a project title edit needed so look at the screen shots and you'll have a back up.

Normal default title ( won't work )

Edited the project name as shown, that will allow you to back this title up.

Re: Blades of Glory

Doc
Yes a new scheme
I think the protection was designed to specifically thwart Cdvd
as Cdvd is unable to open any of the 3 titles
The lowly but still mighty DvdShrink was able to rip Title 1 to completion whereas Cdvd could not
It seems other less known progs had some succes at least ripping title 1

Yes but in reauthor mode so you lose out on some stuff if you really liked this movie. That's why I suggested DNC.

Re: Blades of Glory

Anybody who is in such a rush to do this poor excuse for a movie can rip it to their Hdd with Free DVDfabbdecrypter and then use any program including free Shrink to compress and burn it with Imgburn. Then soon AnyDVD will update and you can do it all over again. Wasted time in my opinion.

Welcome to the forum gizmotoz, DVD fab was updated yesterday to deal with this movie and AnyDVD will be also updated to deal with this movie. What do you mean by" send out your originals". Just watch it. All the programs will have updates for this movie before you will ever want to see it again. LOL.

Re: Blades of Glory

There is a lesson to be learned with this :
It is very easy for the dvd makers to come up with schemes to foil even the most powerful ripping progs and combos and hence it will require active product support to keep these programs viable and their confidence in them high

Even tho the movie sucks
it would behoove SS to come up with a counter ASAP
Come on James

Re: Blades of Glory

@zaq: FYI: If your original is R1, you could have used RI4M (free), and made a backup without problems.

Have patience. James is working on something new for a future version of AnyDVD that should help situations like this. He briefly talked about this new feature on the slysoft forum, however, since it's not ready and there's no ETA I'm not going to post much about it. Just hang in there and this whole copy protection nonsense SHOULD be over soon if James has his way.

P.S. Slysoft is working on updating AnyDVD for this foolish movie. Their disc was delayed in getting to them according to Peer, so, it's taking longer than usual to get an update out. I suspect it'll be out today or tomorrow knowing them.

You called it; it's the principle of the thing. I can well recall the satisfaction I experienced in the old days when my Copy PC board allowed me to copy anything short of a physically damaged disc (remember when they would punch a hole in the disc and then write data around it). And I even managed to make a few of those work.

Re: Blades of Glory

SlySoft has spoiled it's customers with quick fixes with updates issued within hours of a problem. which has given users bragging rights to their product. I think most find it galling to see other programs updated the day of the release of the movie to deal with this issue and they themselves are STILL waiting for a fix. As far as this movie goes, I backed it up as a matter of custom since the movie was purchased for the kids and they are rough on DVD's. personally though, you would have to pay me to watch a Will Farrell movie.
