Re: blade house of chthon

i was able to burn blade with any dvd copying to hard drive. but the thing that is does not copy is the menu were the movie is located. when you play the movie, you have to go int special features to play it. any copies everything but what's in the menu. you click on menu in the copied verison it keeps flashing, or moving quickly, so it's not reading it. but the dvd plays the making of blade, just not the movie

Slysoft are aware of the problem with this movie, and we all just have to wait for a fix.

This is a very big deal, it's not just like a slight modification to arccos that only requires a small update, this is technology that is designed to stop rippers in their tracks.

Don't get me wrong, rip devs may find ways around it, but don't expect it to happen overnight. People keep saying "Man made it, man can break it," and while that may be true, it's going to take a LOT of of time, hardware, and big bucks to break it. Once the devs have these discs in their hands, they will find that this is something unlike they've ever seen before. I wouldn't expect an update to fix this for several months to at least a year (if at all). Believe me, protections like this don't spend years in development with big bucks sunk into them if the devs aren't confident that it won't take significant time, effort, and money to break.

So far both devs and users seem to think "send in the ifos" is all it's going to take... they will find they are sorely wrong.
Just an FYI....this disc wasn't all that tough to back up. I did it in a few hours with free software. It didn't take months or a year or any money. I did it to prove to myself that it can be done(it can) and to also make a backup of my investment. If I can break it in an afternoon, you can be quite sure that once Slysoft and FengTao receive their copies of this disc, it'll be broken within minutes after they analyze it. In the end, another useless protection will be defeated and those that wish to backup their investment will continue to do so. Once the offiicial updates are out to AnyDVD and DVDFab HD Decrypter, this whole protection scheme will be nothing but a minor footnote in history. Much like the often talked about ARccOS crap that we saw on Saw3, Pursuit of Happyness, and Casino Royale. It took a whole week and a half before that was broken with official updates. Fortunately, most of us didn't wait nearly that long to back that up. Just because an official update isn't released it doesn't mean it can't be done. Just like this worthless protection found on this disc...

Indeed. And I expect that AnyDVD will be updated any time now to also handle this. FengTao did a great job on his new version, too. The PathPlayer stuff looks pretty sweet. In the end, this protection is now just a footnote in history, as I said.

Sammy
I don't think we have to worry for a couple of decades as according to Minky, this last attempt was several years in the making.
I will not mention it only took lees than a day to bypass

ROFL! If only he knew where this technology originated. Blutach has given us a history lesson on this one. I remember it from when the guy posted his demo on Doom9 and remember thinking that it was freaky. It looks as though they took the basic premise of that guy's protection and went overboard with the corruption. In the end, it can be played. Hence...yawn.

Re: blade house of chthon

With this movie "BHOC" I was getting an error message regarding memory when I used "RI4M" on 1 click mode : "RipIt4Me.exe - Application Error
---------------------------
The instruction at "0x7c911e58" referenced memory at "0x00001124". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program
---------------------------
OK "

And when I used the wizard mode got something about VOB12 ?

Anyway, how I got it to work was 1) FABDVD copy "movie only", then I burned a disc using shrink DVD (wasnt needed) with DVD encryptor

2) then I tried to play that disc and it was jumpy, stuttered etc--so I copied the burned disc with rip it 4 me to remove all the garbage and the second and new disc works fine!*

Thanks CISO

* I suspect after you get the file from fabdvd that you can then use RI4M and not have to waste a disc

Re: blade house of chthon

absoultely nothing, but it helps someone who is trying to burn the DVD like myself. I spent two days trying to find answers and started by looking at my computer first. If I can save somebody like me some time and effort --who cares if the overall forum area is "Anydvd" if the sub topic is getting a good copy/burn of this movie and I share how I did so?

Obviously the people who own this site care or else there wouldn't be a forum called AnyDVD in the first place. You may not care, but, others do.

CISO
People that use AnyDVD likely don't use RipIt4Me so I fail to see how this would help anyone being posted in the AnyDVD forum.

Im with Ciso.
Who cares whether its AD or another app that gets the job done?
Isnt end game about decrypting movies, regardless of app used.
I use whatever will get the job done.
Who knows whether an AD user is likely or not to use Ri4m or another app.
IMHO, you should not be wedded to any one app. You should keep lots of tools in your toolbox. Ive seen many times where AD could not do a movie while another app could. And visa versa. We need to be versatile folks.

This isn't about which gets the job done, it's about posting in the right area. The forums are set in a certain way. Cis, if you want help with your problem you will get a better response if you post in the right area.

And it is well known that RipIt4Me can not decrypt this movie and never will be able to.

Completely not the point. The powers that be decided they wanted to keep this forum organized. That way people looking for *ANYDVD* specific information can find it in the *ANYDVD* forum. If an AnyDVD user needs to find information about another ripper, they can look in the appropriate forum. Why is it so hard for people to understand that concept? They always fall back on the "who cares as long as *MY* software gets the job done I should be able to discuss it wherever *I* want to" argument but that's not what they intended. Please be respectful of the wishes of the owner of this forum. That's all I'm asking here. This isn't about being "wedded to one app"...it's strictly about posting in the right place.

I completely agree with you... and also find some statements made in this thread humorous since a forum of another product hosted by CD Freaks would tar and feather a person if they suggested an alternate program. I shall not mention any names...

AnyDVD 6.1.8.4 works with Blade - House of Chthon but you must have the A.I. Scanner enabled.

Yes I failed to see the reason to post ripit4me here as it can't do this title so it's relevance isn't even needed here. Let's just hope that this dvdxprotect won't become the norm and then ripit will just R.I.P.

Don't get me wrong at all...I am definitely NOT against other rippers as I do agree they have their place. I have several installed and they all bring something unique to the table. AnyDVD is my main ripper that doesn't fail me very often. Nonetheless, I just think that if you want to talk about the merits of a ripper on this forum, choose the appropriate forum to put it in. That's all.

Oh I agree to and wasn't trying to state the superiority or inferiority of what one wants to use. They all have their respective place on a forum.

Samuri,
With all due respect, perhaps you should refresh your memory of one of the wishes of the owner of this forum in the form of the following rule of this forum:
"If you notice a user breaking the rules, please do not bash the user. Please contact the responsible moderator(s) of that forum or an online administrator through Private Messaging or use the 'Report Bad Post' function (click the orange exclamation mark in the bottom left corner of the particular post, just below the user's details) and have him close or delete the thread, this will prevent an unnecessarily negative atmosphere (and the mods won't get the feeling that someone else is doing their job..."

Re: blade house of chthon

Well i would like to say hi to you all and i don't know if you all found a way to do this movie yet so i thought i would shear how i done it and it works........

1, Put the DVD into the Drive Right Click on AnyDVD beside the clock Click On Rip-Video DVD To HardDisk after it gets done ripping you can close it The Movie should be Alittle over 7GIG.....

2, open DVDFab Platinum on The Source You will Click on the (...) then browse to where the movie files are and click ok and Then Select Your Target to where you wan't it to Shrink to......

3, Now All you have to do is copy it to a DVD i used Nero 6 OEM you can use yours if you dont like nero.

thats it when it gets done the movie should then be 4.19GIG
These Are the Versions i Used SlySoft AnyDVD v5.9.6.3 , DVDFab Platinum v3.0.2.0

Wellcome everyone and Enjoy i know i am....
