| Re: Bewitched will not rip @ SamuriHL, Actually I personally feel that it is inappropriate to ever post alternative software to the AnyDVD software program in the AnyDVD Forum. In the general CD Freaks Copy DVD Movie Forum (http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=62) there are sub-Forums where discussions of alternative software to the AnyDVD software program are the appropriate area to conduct the discussions. When a Forum Member with a problem with AnyDVD posts in the AnyDVD Forum many Forum Members instead of attempting to find to cause of the problem jump it recommend using XYZ software program instead of AnyDVD. I feel that these Forum Members are doing a disservice to the Forum member who has purchased the AnyDVD software program and is seeking help in solving his problem and only clouds the troubleshooting efforts. By and large the AnyDVD software is an extremely stable error free software program. Best Regards, bjkg |

| Re: Bewitched will not rip @bjkg I couldn't agree more and that's exactly what I was getting at. There has NEVER been a time where AnyDVD couldn't rip a title for more than a few days at MOST and almost always more than a few hours after Slysoft receives IFOs. While I realize the goal of most people is simply to get a working backup, and I have no problem with that, we need to post in the correct forum. Otherwise why bother having the sub forums at all? Posting about other software in the AnyDVD forum simply confuses things IMO. I know you agree as I've seen you post that very same message to others. If people want to recommend other software when and if AnyDVD has problems copying something, post it in the general copy movie forum. That way it benefits everyone. |

| Re: Bewitched will not rip @ Mad6, Suggest totally viewing both the ‘Bewitched’ and “Bewitched Will Not Rip’ AnyDVD Forum postings. You will see that within a couple of hours after SlySoft received the ‘Bewitched’ .IFO files that SlySoft released ‘beta’ AnyDVD version 5.5.1.1 that corrected the problem. I know of no other software company that is that responsive to the customer. If you ever experience a problem with AnyDVD in not being able to do its magic in removing copy protection schemes on a Commercial DVD Movie Tile send the .IFO to them as I detail in posting #2 in this thread and the SlySoft will quickly develop a version update that will correct the problem. It could not be any simpler than that. There isn’t the need to have to resort to using a various mixture of different software programs to make a backup copy of any Commercial DVD Movie Tile. The AnyDVD- CloneDVD software combination will copy any Commercial DVD Movie Tile. If it does not simply send the .IFO files to SlySoft and they will quickly provide an update that will. Some of the problems copying Commercial DVD Movie Tile is do to the fact that they were defectively manufactured and contain mastering errors. These DVD’s are in fact defective and need to be returned. It is unrealistic expect a software program to repair a defectively manufactured DVD. Best Regards, bjkg |

| Re: Bewitched will not rip >>>If people want to recommend other software when and if AnyDVD has problems copying something, post it in the general copy movie forum. That way it benefits everyone.<<<< I could not disagree more. If I were the person trying to make a backup of my disc, and AnyDVD were not working (as it was clearly not working), I would certainly wish that someone might give alternatives, even at the risk of offending the beaureaucrats who are more interested in each and every letter of the forum guidelines than they are in actually helping someone solve a problem. A post that offered alternative means that actually work would certainly be more "on topic" than those that chastised other users. Just as your post was not truly "on topic." And, yes, I also realize that my post is not "on topic." Sigh... When a person offers help with another's problem, I urge people to try to resist the urge to condemn self-righteously. Please. Postings such as those are the ultimate "thread-killers." Just my own opinions. Now, is it possible to rteturn to the topic at hand, which is the fact that "Bewitched" would not rip? -Bruce |

| Re: Bewitched will not rip You can certainly disagree as that's your right, but, when people come to the *ANYDVD* forum and ask for advice on ripping a dvd WITH ANYDVD, how is it helpful to post "well gee, xxx program works instead?" They're trying to get help with AnyDVD by posting in this forum. My point is, if they want help on another software, they can use the general Copy Movie forum. I know people think they're helping by posting all the software that they think is great and worked for them with no problem, but, if someone goes out and purchases a program and come to this forum for support, one would think they'd probably want support on the program they paid for. Just a thought. |

Okay, you might want to use Ford while the Maser is in service (until the problem is corrected), so you indeed have a point in suggesting an alternative program, but in the end, you want the Maserati to work again. | |

And if someone wants to recommend another solution as a temporary fix, why wouldn't they want to post it where the most people would see it? For instance, with Bewitched, I didn't have a problem with AnyDVD 5.4.4.1, but, some people did. Let's say, as an example, DVDFab Decrypter was able to handle it. Would it be so hard for someone to post in the general forum "Bewitched R1 Ripped w/ DVDFab Decrypter" and then post a reply to the AnyDVD Bewitched thread that "If you need a temporary solution, please look at my post in the general copy movie forum."? I don't get why the AnyDVD forum has to become an advertising forum for other software. If they're truly interested in posting USEFUL information and HELPING people, then they'd want to post it to the most amount of people, not just a competing product's forum.Quote:

| Re: Bewitched will not rip Seriously, why is it so taboo that someone post an alternative program? It was a reply to a problem someone posted in the AnyDVD forum and a possible solution while we waited for AnyDVD to fix the problem.. This wasnt a posted topic (if it were then there would be a gripe), but a reply to one.. It didnt offend me, nor did I mind the suggestion.. I didnt even care that it was posted in the AnyDVD forum.. I just feel that people shouldnt be limited in what they are able to reply just because this is the AnyDVD forum.. In fact, I did a search on "Bewitched" in all the threads and it came back with hits in the AnyDVD forum.. If any intelligent individual does a search, it will point them to the answer they are looking for, regardless which forum it is in.. And that is ultimately why we are all here to begin with..

| Re: Bewitched will not rip Hello Folks, Many Forum Members who are registered users visit the AnyDVD Forum seeking assistance with the AnyDVD. Many times some Forum Members make no attempt to get to the root cause of the problem and recommend/suggest using XWZ software program instead. Some of these XWZ software programs are actually the cause of AnyDVD not functioning properly. This is a disservice to the register user and only clouds the issue and makes it very difficult to troubleshoot the problem. This is a free word and individuals are fee to choose whatever software product they want to decrepit Commercial DVD Movie Title copy protection schemes. If they chose not to use the AnyDVD software that’s thier right but then they need to be visiting the other sub-Forum that is focused on that particular software product. The AnyDVD software will decrepit all the copy protection schemes presently used on all Commercial DVD Movie Titles. If AnyDVD cannot decrepit the copy protection scheme on a Commercial DVD Movie Titles it is most likely because the Commercial DVD Movie Title was improperly manufactured and contains flaws. The solution in this case is not to recommend/suggest using XWZ software program but to return the defective Commercial DVD Movie Title for a refund. Using XWZ software program to attempt to copy this improperly manufactured Commercial DVD Movie Title might work to a point but if closely viewed will reveal skips, frame freeze and such. Personally I want a perfect copy and not sub-standard results. If a Forum Member visits the AnyDVD Forum and is unable the decrepit the copy protection schemes and in fact the Commercial DVD Movie Title does contain a new variant copy protection scheme but a Forum Member steps in recommends/suggests using XWZ software program instead we all lose because we missed the opportunity to have the .IFO files sent to SlySoft/Elaborate Bytes to be analyzed so that a new updated version of AnyDVD can be developed. It should be noted within hours after Forum Members actually sent the Bewitched .IFO files to SlySoft/Elaborate Bytes to be analyzed the new AnyDVD v5.5.1.1 was released. If someone has used AnyDVD and it is not working for them and they are seeking an alternative to the AnyDVD software program then the AnyDVD Forum is not the place to be looking. The correct Forum is the Copy Movie Forum. In the wisdom of the Forum managers they established sub-Forums and these sub-Forum are focused on a particular software product. If a forum member is seeking information/assistance with particular software product that sub-Forum is the correct proper place to conduct those conversations. That is my view on the matter. Best Regards, bjkg |

| Re: Bewitched will not rip I feel your in a bit too deep with this forum and need to relax a bit.. Its not the end of the world.. Just because someone said "try this program" as a response to someones question you want to chastise him.. Maybe this entire thread should have been posted in the Main Copy Forum? Why should one be limited to answers with regards to AnyDVD? This thread topic just turned into "Dont post alternative programs in the AnyDVD forums".. Lets get off THAT topic and move on..

| Re: Bewitched will not rip Someone said something about how both of the dvd's having problems were from sony. You are correct, and you should be reading up on the newest things they are doing to keep all of us from copying their products before you pop it in your computer, or else arguing about this board won't be your only or biggest concern, seeing as how they are installing hacks on your computer using their products. |

| Re: Bewitched will not rip You very likely selected the wrong audio track when you made the backup. If you selected AC3/2 then yea, you will likely get the audio commentary track. Please select AC3/6 and all should be well. bjkg will very likely post a kuel link to how to figure out which audio track to select so if you still have questions on that follow the advice in the link he provides. |
