Re: Bewitched will not rip

@ Davidstjohn3,

Suggest sending information on this DVD Title to both Elaborate Bytes and SlySoft for analyzing so if there is a new variant on a copy protection scheme that they can improve the AnyDVD software program. Below is information on how to send the required information to both Elaborate Bytes and SlySoft.

1.) DISABLE AnyDVD (little fox on the taskbar should be gray).

2.) Navigate to the VIDEO_TS folder of the DVD.

3.) Copy all files ending with .IFO to your Hard Disk. ONLY those with .IFO, not the big .VOB files!

4.) ENABLE AnyDVD again (just in case, so you don't forget it).

5.) ZIP the .IFO files to one file. Name it with a cool filename (e.g., Bewitched_Problem_Movie.Zip)

6.) Write an email to support(at)slysoft.com (replace (at) with @) and also to bugs(at)elby.ch (replace (at) with @). Name your problem, try to identify the disc (e.g, Bewitched, R1, USA), the UPC number if possible (below the barcode on the package). The information output of AnyDVD can be helpful as well.

7.) They like if you include the AnyDVD version and your AnyDVD serial number in this mail. You find this information in the Settings Window -> About.

8.) Attach ZIP file with the IFOs and send it.

Best Regards,
bjkg

Send .IFO Files to Elaborate Bytes / SlySoft !

Hello Folks,

In posting #2 in this thread I suggested that Forum Members who were having problems making a copy of Bewitched send both Elaborate Bytes and SlySoft a copy of the .IFO files. In posting #2 I provided detailed information on how to go about send the .IFO files to both Elaborate Bytes and SlySoft. As of this time date no has bothered to take the efforts to send them the files.

Below is a Forum posting from James (SlySoft Team Member) and an explanation as to what SlySoft Technical Staff believes is happening with both Bewitched and Closer. As stated by James until some one actually takes the time and effort and sends the .IFO files they can not fix the problem.

http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.ph...4&postcount=14

Please send a copy of the Bewitched .IFO files to both Elaborate Bytes and SlySoft.

Best Regards,
bjkg

Re: Bewitched will not rip

bjkg, should I send my IFO files, as well, even though I was able to rip it with no problems? Maybe it would help them identify differences on this disc? I can do so when I get home if necessary.

I got Bewitched (Fullscreen US version) with no problem. My suggestion is try another disc it happened to me serveral times , like The Interpreter. I got a problem it stopped half way through the movie. But when I switched to new Disc it ripped all the way through.

Re: Bewitched will not rip

@ Hypnosis4U2NV,

Closely read my #2 posting in this thread and note that on paragraph #6 I provide both Elaborate Bytes and SlySoft E-Mail address.

Thank you for taking the time and effort and sending the information to both Elaborate Bytes and SlySoft. Hopefully with your efforts both Elaborate Bytes and SlySoft will be able to up date their software.

Best Regards,
bjkg

James, I just sent IFOs from mine, as well. I was able to back it up with 5.4.4.1, but, you should be able to compare my IFOs to those who are having problems. Thanks!

Re: Bewitched will not rip

I have also tried various combinations and settings with latest versions of AnyDVD, DVD Decrypter and CloneDVD2. I have no problem placing the files on my hard drive and viewing the movie with PowerDVD. But cannot make a DVD disk that will play on a separate DVD player. I am convinced that this is a new protection scheme. Please note that the disk has files in its ROOT (Autorun.inf, dvd-rom.exe and go.exe) as well as the usual VIDEO_TS directory. Autorun.inf reads "[AnyDVD!]",then "open=dvd-rom.exe" Can anyone look at this difference and figure out a solution to the Bewitched problem?

Re: Bewitched will not rip

@ poboy,

Welcome to the Forum.

Suggest viewing another Forum thread titled “Bewitched” and look at posting #93 in that thread. You will see that SlySoft has worked up a “beta” version of AnyDVD v5511 and is requesting Forum Members to see if this corrects the problem. Below is the link for the posting.

http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=153419

It would be helpful if the “beta” version 5511 of AnyDVD corrects the problem to post in that thread to provide feedback to SlySoft.

Best Regards,
bjkg

Re: Bewitched will not rip

That autorun stuff has nothing to do with the protection at all. It's just their dvd shell to give PC users an interactive DVD experience. The protection is arccos and if you have anydvd 5.4.4.1 or higher(the new beta) you should be able to rip it. It is NOT necessary to use decryptor or any other program in combination with AnyDVD to rip the files. Just drag the video_ts folder to your hard drive and then use whatever program ( CloneDVD) you want to shrink it down. I hope this helps.

Re: Bewitched will not rip

Here is a fix for right now. There is a new version of VOB Blanker v 2.0.1.0. Download it, install it and run it. Copy all the files from the DVD to your hard drive and then use DVD-Shrink. I copied it without any problems.

Re: Bewitched will not rip

@ picarcd,

Suggested that you should look at the Forum postings concerning the Bewitched DVD Movie Title. If you had you would have noted that in posting #93 in the Forum posting uniquely tilted “Bewitched” you would have found that over 24 hours ago the fine SlySoft folks have released a “beta” copy of AnyDVD version 5511. This “beta” copy of AnyDVD works perfectly well with the DVD Title Bewitched. So there is now no need to be posting any alternatives to the AnyDVD software program.

It should be noted that this is the AnyDVD Forum and as such this Forum focus is on the AnyDVD software program and not focused on alternatives to the AnyDVD software program. If you are inclined to discuss other software programs there are other CD Freaks Forums were that discussion would be more appropriate .

Best Regards,
bjkg

Is there ever a need to post an alternative to AnyDVD? Slysoft will fix any issues found within hours usually. That's more than adequate. I know people are just trying to help by posting non-AnyDVD related advice, but, this IS the AnyDVD forum.
