AnyDVD Discuss, Bewitched at Copy Movie forum; I haven't watched it...I got it for my wife and daughter and have very little interest in it myself. But if it's locking up near the end, that definitely seems to signify a bad disc so that would explain what you're seeing when trying to rip

Re: Bewitched

This is the error I get with CloneDVD. If the 28 refers to chapter 28 then a mastering error is dead on since thats the chapter with slight problem....you wouldn't even notice if you looked away for that split second. I noticed since the surround cut out.

I'm not knowledgable enough to decipher that, but, that's probably a pretty good guess. I'd return it and get a new copy of it.

By the way, not that I care but how do you rid yourself of the rookie label? I would prefer something more entertaining. Just curious.

Bewitched, not worth the effort!!! not even for NK!!

My post count. I've never edited it. I'm not sure if it can be changed by mere users or not.

Re: Bewitched

eh....like I said it's not important....just a label. I don't post enough to get any big post count. I only come here to solve problems and keep up to date with stuff. There's too many people here that spend way more time troubleshooting stuff than me. My stuff works flawlessly but every now and then I get a problem, so I don't have much to add unless I experience it/solve it.

I tried that method as well. Damn CRC error stopped me cold.

Re: Bewitched

I have the copy with the ARccOS on it. I can rip the movie fine with AnyDVD 5.4.4.1 and CloneDVD 2.8.5.1, but when I try to play it on my home DVD player, the damn thing won't play. I tried with DVD Decrypter, and had the same problem. I have to fast forward and skip chapter 1. I can play from Chapter 2 on without a problem.Sony screwed up with this disc. It doesnt make any sense. I have one copy that i bought at Frys and it doesnt have ARccOS, and then the other one I got from Blockbuster, DOES have ARccOS. It makes no sense to me. Maybe Sony is testing this "new version" on the blockbuster crowd?

Re: Bewitched

Okay, I know this is the AnyDVD forum, and people are trying to deal with problems using that software on this Sony Arccos disc.

However, for those who are just trying to get the movie ripped, regardless of method used:

My Region 1 also failed using many of the methods described above, with bizarre results. In one case (DVDFabDecrypter alone) I got it to rip, but the result was full of problems that could not be handled by DVDShrink and also errors that caused VOBBlanker to go "batty."

There is a .PSL file which has been posted for use with DVDDecrypter, for this film. You merely start up DVDDecrypter, without AnyDVD, and with no other programs running in the background (do not use DVD43, either, for example). Import the .PSL file, and then rip using DVDDecrypter, all alone. It does work.

The .PSL file can be found over on the Digital Video Forums. Here is a link, if you wish to go this route:

http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=56592

Sorry to stray from the main thrust of this area (AnyDVD), but I sensed that some people here just wanted to get this Sony Arccos disc done, no matter the software.

You will not see an update, unless you send the .ifo files to SlySoft support.

Please send .ifo files to slysoft support. We usually make an update within a few hours - IF we know about the problem. We CAN NOT help, if we have nothing to work with.

I have to repeat myself again and again: Please send .ifo files. If you don't, you will *never* get an updated AnyDVD version.

Actually if you read the posts it seems curious, it's almost like they have released two versions - one with Accros and one without (at least that's what the AnyDVD info reports seem to be showing).

Most curious . . .
I have suspected that they have been doing this for a while. It would explain a lot. It is not exactlly uncommon for diffrent copy methods to work for diffrent people with problem movies. If wouldn't really be that hard to use diffrent copy protections on diffrent production runs. If they are, it could just be their way of trying to make things harder for us. The fact that anydvd is finding diffrent copy protection on diffrent disks would seem to support this.

Send .IFO Files to Elaborate Bytes / SlySoft !

Hello Folks,

In posting #9 in this thread I strongly suggested that Forum Members who were having problems making a copy of Bewitched send both Elaborate Bytes and SlySoft a copy of the .IFO files. In postig #9 I provided detailed information on how to go about sending the .IFO files to both Elaborate Bytes and SlySoft. As of this time date no has bothered to take the effort to send them the files.

Below is a recent Forum posting from James (SlySoft Team Member) and an explanation as to what SlySoft Technical Staff believes is happening with both Bewitched and Closer. As sated by James until some one actually takes the time and effort and sends the .IFO files they can not fix the problem.

http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.ph...4&postcount=14

Please send a copy of the Bewitched .IFO files to both Elaborate Bytes and SlySoft.

Best Regards,
bjkg

Re: Bewitched

The problem here is that Sony did an experiment of some kind. It is the same movie, just with two versions -- one with ARccOS, one without. My assumption is that they are using Blockbuster as a test. I purchased one copy at a local retailer, the other copy I got from Blockbuster. The one I purchased at the local retailer, did not have ARccOS. The one I RENTED at Blockbuster, had a different UPC and did have ARccOS. Either way, I was able to use the AnyDVD 5.4.4.1/ CloneDVD 2.8.5.1 combo and it ripped fine. It just doesnt play properly on my dvd player.
