"Backup your DVD to DVD±R" & AnyDVD

Can AnyDVD be used instead of DVD Decrypter in the How to backup your DVD to DVD±R guide? More specifically when burning 'Type 3' would it allow me to jump to Step 4:#7? (start with DVD2SVCD) instead of starting at Step 4:#1?
If it can indeed be done will the quality be effected?

I just though that would be nice as this would save me some time and HD space!

Thnx in advance

Sorry but I've been (actually still am!) on holidays.

Since I dont have AnyDVD (its to slow for me) installed at the moment. But I dont see why it would not work for you but remember your DVD-ROM will be spinning for hours while the encode is being done. It will also slow down the encode and in the end I doubt you will achieve any time saving. DVD Decrypter rips substantially faster then AnyDVD so why use it.
