Some of the newer Sony releases has issues using anything but ClonDVD2 to rip to the HDD this is what most will say.

Not anymore. AnyDVD 6.1.4.1 has a brand new ripper built in that'll work great for Shrink users on any title. CloneDVD is no longer required for ripping.

Yes,...I've been using 6.0.9, which has the ripper. Set to Enable speed control/drive default

No, no, 6.1.4.1 has a NEW ripper based upon the CloneDVD2 code that is *FAR* better than the old ripper code. You definitely will want to check it out when it's official unless you don't mind beta software. (Slysoft beta software is more stable than most released products)

Yes you can use Shrink plus Nero but the problem is the new videos have the advanced protection technology that DVD Shrink is not capable to remove them therefore you need AnYDVD as protection remover.

Does the old version of Anydvd need to be un-installed prior to the beta version's install?

No. I never uninstall older versions before updating and I've never run into a problem. Just make sure AnyDVD, CloneDVD, CloneCD or Virtual CloneDrive aren't running when you update.

Re: Anydvd for ripping (newbie)....

Raymond, sometimes you may need to use the ripper in AnyDVD. Right click on AnyDVD in the tray and hit "Rip Video DVD to Harddrive".

He means right click on the AnyDVD "red fox" icon down in the tray area by the clock and select "Rip Video DVD to Harddrive".

Re: Anydvd for ripping (newbie)....

AnyDVD is only a ripper. It will not put the files onto a DVD.

Well after the rip then you use your favorite burning encoding or transcoding software and put it on a DVD ether dual layered dvd or single layered dvd depending on which one you have.

Re: Anydvd for ripping (newbie)....

Scratch that. I forgot, there was a bug in 6.1.4.3. Please install:

http://sandbox.slysoft.com/beta/SetupAnyDVD6151.exe

and try again.
