Re: AnyDVD - How to use?

Have you ever received this question:

Using AnyDVD and CloneDVD2, can you make a compilation disc, extracting files from different sources?? Disregarding menus and just having one chapter run into the next?? So far, what I've tried has not worked.

Thank you for your anticipated response.

Yes, we've had the question, no, it won't work.

Re: AnyDVD - How to use?

Isn't there a way of doing this by choosing 'COPY DVD TITLES' on the main page. Then selecting the one, two, etc. things you need. Then choosing DVD FILES as the output method. Then repeating the procedure until you have all your finished files. Then merging them SOMEHOW at the end to have a single DVD without menus and that runs chapter into chapter?? It seems like a developer would have thought of such a thing to encorporate.

@ GreenTNHoney,

The CloneDVD software program wasn’t designed to be a compilation/authoring software program. The CloneDVD software program was designed to “Clone” a Commercial DVD Movie as the name of software program implies.

If you desire a DVD compilation/authoring software program perhaps the Nero Recode software program will meet your needs. Below is a Guide detailing how to use Nero Recode to make a DVD compilation ->

Selecting DVD Titles allows you to keep or remove titles on a particular disc. What you asked about was to take titles from several discs. That can't be done with CloneDVD. As has been said, there are programs that allow you to do that, but, it's not an overly simple process.

Re: AnyDVD - How to use?

you can do it with one of the nero progs that comes in nero 7. it requires extracting titles from the dvds you want and combining them. quite a long and complicated process. the only use anydvd will be in it is to provide decryption while you are extracting the titles (providing that you havent already ripped the dvds to your hdd)

Or if you don't want to buy Nero, you can also make a compilation DVD using the free DVDShrink. DVDShrink is the same program that became Nero Recode.

Once you get all the titles you want to compile onto your HDD, you just open each in Shrink and add them to your compilation list...

Here's a guide...
http://www.dvdshrink.info/compilation.php

this guide uses an older version of Shrink, but you'll get the idea. And it will basically be the same method if you were to use Recode as well...

Re: AnyDVD - How to use?

AnyDVD is a very low level driver that removes most protection "on the fly". That is, to every program running on your machine, the DVD appears to be unprotected. If you click on AnyDVD's fox icon, and then make sure Status is selected on the left, you can see the AnyDVD status window which will show you what kind of protections are found on the disc and removed.

Just keep it running at all times, having it start on boot is the best way. It actually does alot more than just decrypt movies.

Thanks alot, that really did help. now onto it partner.... CloneDVD2... for some reason unknown to me "Saw 3 Unrated" does not work. when i select it from the browse menu it gives me an error saying "Invalid Block Type" i already have saw 3 and am making a legal backup but this makes me wonder.. will i run into the same error in the future with my large dvd collection?
