AnyDVD.exe

Recently had a few viruses on my computer and got all that craziness taken care of. But now my AnyDVD won't open. I tried downloading a new one and while its downloading, it says the .exe file cannot download and gives me the options to cancel installation, retry or ignore the problem and continue going. Well the retry option doesnt work. It just keeps giving me the same error message. I chose ignore but that obviously won't allow the program to open once the rest of the installation is done. Any ideas on whats wrong with the downloading of AnyDVD?

PAdams,

Please disable any download manager and download the setup file from our mirror pool http://static.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD6101.exe or directly from a mirror http://h2.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD6101.exe

Re: AnyDVD.exe

One more thing before you do that...clear your browser's cache to get rid of any corrupt downloads that might still be there.

Don't worry about it. You're asking for help and that's a good thing. We need to know what browser you're using. Also, do you have Norton Internet Security Suite installed by chance?

Re: AnyDVD.exe

Ok, just checking on the Norton thing as I know that's interfered with downloads before. In IE you go to tools, options and on the first tab there should be an option to clear the cache also known as delete temporary files. Do that before redownloading and hopefully your problem will be cleared up for you.

Re: AnyDVD.exe

Thanks Samuri...I cleared out the temporary files and tried the download again but still got the same message. Should I uninstall the AnyDVD that I have now and try to install it all over again? And if so, will uninstalling it delete the key that I have for it? I dont want to have to pay again for a key.

Re: AnyDVD.exe

When you got the key, you should save it to somewhere safe. In case your computer breaks down or something. This is a must!

When you uninstall AnyDVD, you are given the option to keep registration info, or remove it. Choose to keep it.

Re: AnyDVD.exe

First and foremost thing you should do is back up your key. You never want to lose it. I recommend keeping it on a USB key or floppy or external hard drive, etc. Something not relying on your machine. Next, and I hate telling users to do this as it annoys me, but, clear the cache again and then disable pc-cillin while you download it. If getting it directly from the links above you can be rest assured they don't contain any spyware or viruses. Once it's downloaded, then you can reenable pc-cillin. After that, I would uninstall AnyDVD, and if it asks, say yes to KEEPING the registration information. (Just so you don't have to worry about reimporting the registration info). After you uninstall, reboot your machine, reinstall from the fresh download, and then reboot once more. Hopefully that'll do it for you! If not, we'll be here to help.

Re: AnyDVD.exe

Thanks guys, Ill give that a try. And FYI, I have the key saved on an external harddrive. I learned my lesson by not doing that before. I had Clone and AnyDVD on my old laptop and it was stolen and had to repurchase everything again because I didnt have the key saved elsewhere. So Ive learned. But Ill try out the you said again and see what happens.

Re: AnyDVD.exe

I'm having a problem can someone please Help? Similar to the one above but, any time I try to uninstall or re-install I get this error message...

Error opening file for writing: "C:\Program Files\Slysoft\AnyDVD\AnyDVD.exe" Hit "Abort" to abort installation, "Retry" to retry writing the file, "Ignore" to skip this file.

None of these choices make the program work. This all started once the trial time expired it asked me to purchase or exit...I hit exit. I tried to uninstall the program but had a second thought since I like the program and then I purchase the RegKey but still I'm getting this message. Any ideas???

Re: AnyDVD.exe

do a ctl alt del and look at your processes and make sure anydvd is not running when you
try to install it. This erro is caused most of the time when you are trying to install a program while it is running.
Also you can go to google and search Error opening file for writing you will find post from others that have had this problems when installing.

Doing a search on google or yahoo when I have a problem like this is my little secret so do not tell anyone because people think I know a lot about fixing computers because of this. Use it all the time to fix problems for people. If you have a problem in most cases someone else had it and if you google the right words for the problem you will most of the time find a fix. I even use it for problems with cars tvs and anything else. Boy does it make a dumb person like me smart.

No problem that is what we are here for just remember to do a yahoo or google search next time on your trouble. I did not even think about that being your problem until I searched it on google.

hold on there, some people work in video stores and are able to buy their copy a week or two before the release date, so if the OP didn't say it's been downloaded or anything else ilegal we have to give them the benifit of the dought

Re: AnyDVD.exe

I am pretty sure they aren't allowed to buy the DVDs. A few of my mates work at video stores and they can hire them out as full DVDs, or the screeners.
