Re: Anydvd error on new version

Whats making the message, Windows? Your Antivirus? or Anydvd itself?.

Anydvd itself, then it shuts down. Im not even backing up when this error occurs...just while its running idly in the background.

I suspect, sir, that it most assuredly is.

That message is what comes up when AnyDVD detects that it has been cracked.

I suspect that it might ALSO come up at some future time if the program is compromised by Starforce, Safedisc, or some other "anti-piracy" tool.

But at the current moment, no software OTHER than a crack is known to cause this message.

SO... uninstall AnyDVD, reinstall it, and if the error persists... *ahem*

Are you still running the beta version as suggested in your signature?
If so, why? It's 1 beta and 2 regular revisions old.

This is a DISTINCT case of someone not adhering to our advice. We always advise NOT to just say "the latest" or "the new" about things.

Don't, in future, say "the new version of AnyDVD..." or things like that. Be specific.

If you had said that you were using 5.9.0.0 we would have immediately told you to uninstall it and install 5.9.2.1!

Although I'm NOT entirely convinced that 5.9.0.0 actually generates this message... I never saw it when I had 5.9.0.0 installed...

It doesn't. Unless it is modified by a Virus or a crack, of course.

Re: Anydvd error on new version

Ive got another issue with version 5.9.2.1. I originally downloaded version 5.8.4.1 and had no problems, so I purchased a reg key for it. I received the message that a new version as available, so I downloaded 5.9.2.1. Now, whenever I reboot, I first get a message saying that my trial has expired, I close that. Then when I try to load up anydvd I get a message that says my trial expires in 3 days, and it appears to work.

Also, when I see who it is registered to, it says registered to Nobody. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, each time saying to remove all registration information. Can anyone offer some guidance?

Thanks

Re: Anydvd error on new version

Go to slysoft site and send an e-mail to the support...
I belive that after re-installed the new version you double click your key one more time... didn't you?

Re: Anydvd error on new version

Yeah, Ive tried that, it says restart AnyDVD. I do so, then check on the registration and it still says Registered to Nobody. Still says I have 3 days left of 21.

Looks like your license has been blacklisted. I suggest you contact SlySoft support.

Re: Anydvd error on new version

Well you can TRY uninstalling... it'll ask you if you want to remove the registration information. Say yes. MAKE SURE TO KEEP YOUR KEY FILE.

Then reboot, go into regedit, and make sure the slysoft entries are gone from the registry. (Hint: HKLM\Software\)

Then reinstall, and after reinstalling, double-click your key again.

That might work.

Re: Anydvd error on new version

if you recently purchased 5.8.4.1 and immediately upgraded to 5.9.2.1, where the heck would you find a copy of 5.8.4.1?????

my guess is on a P2P.

and where did you "purchase" your key?

something seems fishy. the slysoft site does not post previous releases so you had to have obtained your version from somewhere else. if you're going elsewhere for the program, it wouldn't surprise me if you're going elsewhere for your key as well...

If he says his trial is up in 3 days then that would mean he first installed AnyDVD 27 days ago and that would have been the same time (i think) that 5.8.4.1 was out. Did you let anyone else use your key as that may be the cause as to why its been disabled as (i think) the key is one computer specific (i know my DVD-Rebuilder one defintiely is not sure about AnyDVD).

But i would email your key to slysoft to get them to check it over to see what has happend. I suspect things like this do happen. And as they are the ones who gave it to you i doubt there would be anything wrong in your emailing it to their support for help in sorting out what has happend to it.

Hope this helps

The key is NOT computer specific. SlySoft doesn't do such crap like "product activation" or "hardwarev specific keys"!

Re: Anydvd error on new version

Ultimately I agree with Zaq.

The sad fact is though as soon as this problem is recognised their will be a crack put out to fix it I truly don't see how Sly will get around it (a quick search on Google would probably verify this).

Me myself the support from the company is worth spending the money to get a legitimate key.
