| AnyDVD and DivX, Xvid I am having some audio sync problems with Sony Arccos movies like Bewitched, Stealth and Madagascar. If I use AnyDVD with CloneDVD it seems to work fine, but then if I compress it with Xvid or Divx the audio is severly out of sync. I would say this is a problem with the Encoders like Dr.Divx, AutoGK or such. But, if I use PgcEdit with the PSL2 pluggin with a "Remove Crap" option on for ripping the movie properly decode into DivX or Xvid. So it looks to me like a rippping problem. Does anyone have a solution that starts with AnyDVD and end up with a good DivX, Xvid Movie; for an Arccos Movie? BTW: I tried taking Bewitched -> CloneDVD and then trying to rip that disk. I know it is heard to beleive but audio sync problem prevails. |

| Re: AnyDVD and DivX, Xvid SlySoft, So why do you have to fix their bloody bug? Do you ever communicate with other companys' engineering department heads and tell them your suggestions to fix their bugs? BTW: Don't know if this topic is sensitive but has slysoft started working on either of the coming HD format protection solutions yet? I also hear their highest ouput quality will only be available if we buy yet another HD-TV with a special socket-input for a special "protection" cable to connect the TV to the player. Don't suppose AnyDVD will help us avoid this! I'm personally boycotting Sony over the rootkit abomination. So work on the "other" HD standard first Not gonna "buy-in" at startup prices anyway so I'm just being nosy!BTW, I buried this question, avoiding "keywords", on an off topic thread that I knew you were watching, rather than attract the wrong eyes by starting a new, blatant thread header. On the other hand, if we can modify our products to work better with 3rd party tools, we will do that. It improves the customer's experience and frees support resources: You don't need to tell customers "for this to work, you need to upgrade to version ... of product ..." Not to mention that the support crew would be required to be informed about various 3rd party tools. It is much simpler to tell the customer "use the newest AnyDVD. Come back, if you still have problems." Quote:

| Re: AnyDVD and DivX, Xvid Thanks, I live L.A. but visit the "valley to the north" once a week. My friend at Adobe claims to have an HD player or drive, an appropriate display device and a demo disk that Toshiba sent the company for evaluation. Another friend at DM-FX says they also have eval equiptment from both camps. I'm trying to wrangle an invitation to check it out, but it's hard to bring guests into a development area of any company. |

This is not a bug of these encoding programs... These programs are designed to deal with ordinary, in-specs DVDs... The ARccOS releases bend the specs, in order to make back-up of any kind, harder for the standard user... In my point of view, the task to deliver a "clean" DVD, is up to the ripper... Not just AnyDVD, but any ripper...

But it is a waste of time to argue about this. It we can change our products to make the encoding programs happy, we will do it. Regardless if it is our bug or theirs. ![]()
