AnyDVD can't find DVD Burner on Vista? - Club CDFreaks

Ok so I was wondering why AnyDVD isnt recognizing my disc drive. I have a LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A1L.

I am running off 64-bit Windows Vista Business and AnyDVD and CloneDVD were both recognizing my DVD drive until I used the registration key to register the programs. What I don't understand is when I am running my computer on Windows XP Professional it fully recognizes my drive and everything functions flawlessly

After I used them and restarted my PC they would no longer recognize my drive. I was wondering if anyone would possibly know a solution to my problem.

Any and all Ideas would be much appreciated.

I was wondering if anyone happen to know where I could go to update my firmware?

Try turning off the User Account Control. (UAC)

Welcome onboard seanee07.

Try uninstalling drive via Device Manager 1st, Then let Windows reinstall. See if that helps In AnyDVD is the box for the Lite-On still checked?
As alan1476 mentions you could try turning UAC off.

it works flawlessly on my system probably because I have UAC disabled

Check the event viewer for problems.
