hi, i bought a region 4 dvd, i tried using anydvd and first and second clonedvd , but i cant seem to view it on my dvd player, works on the pc.

Maybe your set-top can't play recordable discs?

hi, my dvd player is a Sony dvp s550d , it works with all my dvdr - + and dvdrw -+ , but just that region code thing cant fix. It works fine for my dvd player in my computer, but just curious if possible to make a back-up work in my Sony Player. I also tried dvd shrink and dvd region free.

Can be media issue. Unfortunately you didn't mention what it was.

Once processed w CloneDVD the recorded media is supposed to look like that :

"Disc Regions are 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8"
