| Re: AnyDVD 6.4.0.0 BD+ Discussion Thread You'll need PowerDVD Ultra, ArcSoft TMT, or Nero Showtime with the BD plugin to play them back. PowerDVD Ultra is the most widely used software.

| Re: AnyDVD 6.4.0.0 BD+ Discussion Thread If it works, continue using it. No need to spend money on something if what you have already does what you need. ![]()

I don't know if nero Showtime w/BD Plugin has all of the features that PowerDVD has. Would you happen to know? Are there any features that PowerDVD has that Nero Showtime does not have that would make it worth purchasing? I am not trying to justify the purchase unless I really need something in it that I can't live without, ya know? Thx Last edited by Burner127; 27-03-2008 at 19:27. | |

| Re: AnyDVD 6.4.0.0 BD+ Discussion Thread Couldn't tell you. I've never gotten Nero Showtime to work for HD DVD/BD playback on my machine. It simply crashes. I have used PowerDVD Ultra since February of last year and while I dislike it, I've not found anything better that I'd buy to replace it. I keep hoping, but, it's currently mostly regarded as the best HD playback solution out there. All I know is I mount my ripped ISO images of my HD DVD/BD discs, point PowerDVD to the virtual drive, and it simply works...most of the time. When PowerDVD doesn't have a bug with a particular title and we're not waiting for an update to fix it. All the titles I currently have, and that's a fair amount, work with it. None of them work for me in Showtime. Showtime may have any number of problems with my HTPC and I don't care enough to try to fix it. None of this really answers your question though. My advice, go to the PowerDVD Ultra feature page on Cyberlink's website and see if it has something you think you'd want. I'd wait a few weeks, though, as PowerDVD 8 Ultra will be out soon.
