Re: AnyDVD 6.1.8.4

My apologies if this has been reported but I have not seen it. On 2 seperate disks I have just burned, AnyDVD shows the following:

RCE protection not found.
ERROR: AI Scanner has failed, error 12!
Found & removed bogus title set(s)!
UDF filesystem patched!
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Found & removed 7 potential bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

Neither disk will play unless I disable AnyDVD during playback. Both seem to work fine in my PC (with AnyDVD disabled) and DVD player. I am using Verbatim +R media. I have never seen this until this update.

Re: AnyDVD 6.1.8.4

Tristyn, one thing you could do that would be helpful is to enable the AnyDVD logging in the settings, rescan the disc, and it will create a zip file in your My Documents folder. If it's small enough to post here that'd be great. Otherwise the Slysoft forum has been updated recently to accommodate those files, so you could post it there. That will give a detailed log that may help us determine the problem for you.

Re: AnyDVD 6.1.8.4

K. I have another DVD in the "oven" right now with about 30 minutes to go. I'll try the logging soon as that is done.

Thanks!

Re: AnyDVD 6.1.8.4

I just saw on Slysoft's forum that some of those filters I have running can be problematic. Since I didn't even know I had Sonic installed it was quite a surprise to see those there. It looks like my HP scanner software installed that on my system. I'm digging around right now to see if I can figure out how to get those out. Wish me luck. Once that is done I will try again.

Re: AnyDVD 6.1.8.4

Roxio and DirectCD are notorious for causing system and program conflicts. I would uninstall them to see if that doesn't fix the problem.

Re: AnyDVD 6.1.8.4

I uninstalled what I could but things have not changed other than wacking my drives. Thankfully that is now fixed.

I have burned over 600 DVDs on this system and never saw this problem until this latest update to AnyDVD. Why should it be a problem with filters that have been on my system for months and/or years? Let's get back on topic please.

Now, one other piece of information. I modified both of the offending DVDs with VOBBlanker. Once again, this has never been a problem before so why now after the update?

BTW, I disabled the AI and they still will not play with AnyDVD enabled.

The Hoax Region 1 with Richard Gere cannot be backed up using the latest 6.1.8.4 AnyDVD. I also tried just the main title, still no luck.

You need to go to http://forum.slysoft.com and answer questions 8, 9, and 10 from http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=321.

If this is a disc that AnyDVD 6.1.8.4 cannot backup, Slysoft will be unable to fix the problem unless you do this.

Re: AnyDVD 6.1.8.4

This is being worked on as we speak by the developers at Slysoft, I am sure they will have a fix for it soon. We will have all the answers right here, most of our members are very knowledgeable and as soon as it is updated you know right within minutes.

Re: AnyDVD 6.1.8.4

Sabine, if you are able to, can you run that disc through Nero CD/DVD Speed and check it for errors? That would be extremely useful. Thanks!

Re: AnyDVD 6.1.8.4

Sabine, please try another source disc, I have spoken with others and this disc seems to be not a problem. It is possible you have a bad source disc, do as SamuriHL asked and we can tell you more.

He means a disc scan for read errors. Its really a good way to check a disc.

Re: AnyDVD 6.1.8.4

Scan Disc tab. In Nero 8 the tool is now called Nero DiscSpeed 4 and has the Scan Disc tab. I want to know if there are errors on the original disc.

Hi!

Can someone please post the checksum of AnyDVD.exe v6.1.8.4?
I receive some kind of checksum error (in mistake?).

Mine is (MD5): 423dd3ab005d023fee028ad5afa3ebc1

[EDIT]

423DD3AB005D023FEE028AD5AFA3EBC1, so, yours is correct. Always make sure you download directly from Slysoft and do not run any cracks. (I'm not suggesting you're running cracks, just giving out generic advice). Also scan your system for viruses and trojans that could be hindering your system.

Re: AnyDVD 6.1.8.4

Sorry, no crack.
Somehow this only happens when running in enabled
mode (and not when firing up AnyDVD disabled).

Navigate to AnyDVD.exe (right click AnyDVD shortcut on the desktop, properties, Find Target)

Right Click AnyDVD.exe
In the Tabs, select "Digital Signatures"
Double-click the "SlySoft" Signature

You will see something like "The certificate is not valid for this purpose"
Click "View certificate"
In the next window, click the "Certification path" tab
Here you'll see a certification tree. Pick the one with a yellow warning exclamation sign (usually the top one, GlobalSign Root CA), double click it.
Now click the "Details" tab.
Click "Edit Properties". Now click "enable all purposes for this certificate", or if you don't want that, just check "Code signing".

Now click "OK" on all the windows you have opened.

To verify that all is well now, right click AnyDVD.exe again. Click "Digtial Signatures". Pick "SlySoft". It should say now "the digital signature is ok".
That should fix you up.

Re: AnyDVD 6.1.8.4

Hi SamuriHL!

Thx. But ...

I am not allowed to double click the one
with a yellow warning exclamation mark.

Why does it have to be so complicated?

[EDIT]
OK, got it.
"GlobalSign Root CA" was the right choice
(although "SlySoft Inc." was the one with
the exclamation mark).
[/EDIT]
