Nope zaq it's true he must be older than me for that price but it's possible.

  1. Sony KL-W9000 50" widescreen lcd monitor NO HDCP = $3,000CDN (original retail $17,000US)
  2. Sony VPH-1252Q Front Projector NO HDCP = $3,000US (original retail $25,000US)
  3. HTPC = $1,000CDN
  4. LG GGC-H20L Bluray/HD-DVD combo drive = $299CDN
  5. AnyDVD-HD = $30US (upgraded from AnyDVD $49US)
  6. Ability to play any High-Def material without replacing my perfectly working high-def equipment because of HDCP restrictions = PRICELESS
Just accessing the servers for the AnyDVD HD BD+ key updates could cost me more than their Euro price and I would happily pay it.
I have owned CloneDvd for years, also the original CloneCD4. I bought CloneCD5 with the Christmas discount just to show my support and keep them (hopefully) in business (even though I could just continue using DvdDecrypter for free instead).

Get real.

Sorry Alan, I wouldn't. Nor will many others who are expressing serious doubts in this thread. That does not make me or them nonsensical. It actually makes us rational human beings and not (what some people rather distastefully call) "program fanboys".

Please do try to look at how others feel and not simply how you SS owners feel. We are not idiots.

Inescapably, the price today for AnyDVD HD is US$63.20. In 17 days' time, the very same product will almost double to US$115. Absolutely no extra benefit for the 82% price hike. To strongly doubt buying a product on that basis is not nonsensical and I really would prefer not being called a fool (or heaped shame on as per post 13).

If you and others feel so strongly about its value, perhaps you all should consider making a donation to SS to help them keep prices down for the more price conscious amongst us. (I acknowledge that this suggestion is equally absurd as calling us price conscious folks fools but that is exactly how donationware works.)

Regards

The price today is 49.99 USD. The price change does not go into effect until after the new year. I also believe there is a 20% discount now until after Christmas. Everyone can decide for themselves whether the program an its forward looking support and updates are worth it. If you need the hd option another 30.00 will be added to the 49.99, some people are not hd or bluray ready yet so you have a choice. Great program in my view.

So basically you are saying that
you hate their product
the price increase is not good and may drive them out of business
you hate their product and don't like the price increase
you dont intend to buy their product, hate their product and hate their price increase

I think I understand you now
that really comes together now

In the future please DO NOT call supporters of a product SYCOPHANTS as in your post #above
it really is not nice

Re: Anybody note the intended price change after Jan 1/08 = buy licenses fast and use X_mas 20% off also

Wow. I'm amazed this thread wasn't closed long ago for being this off topic.

I'll chime in with my experience (and on-topic): I used other software before using Slysoft AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. Strictly limited to these titles, I've not seen a better set of supported titles than these--especially the free lifetime updates. Where there's a new copy protection, Slysoft really gets on it and has a fix many times in a day or less. To add an HD and Blu-ray side to the decrypter where they're working hard on that...wow! With the fact I've read at least one user having to download 3 firmware updates just to be able to play one Blu-ray title in a player, that's the kind of work Slysoft has to invest to keep up with that kind of copy protection.

SamuraiHL already pointed out (IIRC) that the switch from USD to Euro has to deal basically only to the instability of the USD. Even other countries are starting to switch reserves from USD to Euro. Other businesses are investing in things denominated in Euros and places in Europe because of greater yield. It's just a good business decision. I do not blame Slysoft for being smart, nor deciding to price in Euros. Given Slysoft continues permitting free lifetime updates and continues the same exceptional support, the software will still be a bargain considering these factors. Consider that Slysoft has nearly continuously offered 20% coupons to further lower the software price. How many companies FIND reasons to continually offer a significant discount on software with excellent support, that works very well AND lifetime updates? I've not seen a comparable product. The only difference with the price increase will mean paying more later than now, and I can't see Slysoft getting more money and then soon afterward getting sloppy with its decryption and software support. Its track record and current record don't indicate that as a likelihood at all.

While I don't need the HD/Blu-ray add on (and hope DVD format will remain in force), if I need it sometime in the future, I'll buy theirs with no reservation--even at the higher prices--because they REALLY work hard to put out and maintain a quality product. And they keep their word and I know of no case where they have gone back on it. Considering all that, that's rare and provided that does not change, I'll gladly fork over my hard-earned $$$ for such a quality, non-compromising set of software.

If I closed every thread that went off-topic we wouldn't have a forum LOL. Happy Holidays and I agree with your post. Thanks and Have a Happy Holiday Quema34.
