Try >
Be sure there is not a Disc in the Drive

Right Click on Fox > Settings >Drives >Selection
Un Check your E: Drive
Click OK
Now
Right Click on Fox > Settings >Drives >Selection
Check your E: Drive
Click OK

Or ... Sometimes , just
Right Click on Fox >Exit
Restart from Shortcut/All Programs

I've noticed this happens at times
- If I've left a DVD in the Drive when I Turned Off/Restarted the PC

- doesn't happen very often .....

The Drive is a TDK, and has worked for a long time with AnyDVD.

Yes the Drive is recognized by the Device Manager, and is working to write to with other programs.

Re: Any DVD disabled on Drive E:

Having the same kind of problem. Anydvd will be in my tray and then I get an error and when I restart AnyDVD it says both my drives are disabled for AnyDVD. Computer recognizes the drives and can use them for other programs. Have to shut down the computer and restart Anydvd to get it to re-recognize drives.

Re: Any DVD disabled on Drive E:

I'm having the exact same problem with ANYDVD. My LG drive recognizes all audio disks, etc, but it doesn't even show a DVD in the drive. When I right click on the Fox it has a check beside "enabled", but when I open it, it says "AnyDVD is disabled for Drive D:!".

Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Any DVD disabled on Drive E:

It's an original copy with the latest update. I just removed it and I'm still having problems getting any kind of DVD to play. The drive doesn't even recognize the disc. Any ideas?

Re: Any DVD disabled on Drive E:

I suggest a firmware update maybe? What is the drive model? Here's an example I have a Sony DRU 810A.

I have an LG GSA-4167B. I updated the firmware before I posted here and it hasn't changed anything.

Uninstall AnyDvd. Reboot. Re-install AnyDvd. Reboot. This should solve the problem. I had this problem last week after I uninstalled Nero.

The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them-words shrink things that seemed limitless when in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while saying it. Re: Any DVD disabled on Drive E:

Did what you said and the only thing that changed was the error message on Any DVD. Instead of showing disabled, it says no disc present. This is so frustrating....

Re: Any DVD disabled on Drive E:

try this odd way to go about it. go into bios and reset ide cd/dvd drives. wonder if person left cd in drive while rebooting or shutdown with cd in drive. sometimes makes programs not see drive. should only need to worry about using the anydvd for the drive you are reading from. i dont see why you would need it for drive writing to.

Re: Any DVD disabled on Drive E:

I successfully burned a data disk and was able to access the files from the CD with no problems afterwards. I still can't even watch a DVD, let alone burn it.

Re: Any DVD disabled on Drive E:

sounds like the dvd laser went out. if you have another computer take it out and put into the other computer or a friend's computer to see if it works or not. if not then it's time to buy a new one.

Either restores your system to the date before this think happened or uninstall your drive "E" from IDE controller that is connected, reboot and let the windows reinstall the drive again.

Re: Any DVD disabled on Drive E:

The same thing happens to me all the time. After I rip a DVD, if I put a different DVD in the drive it says there is no disk. It happens almost every time.

The work around I use works every time too.

All I do is disable then re-enable the drive.

Right click the drive > click properties > go to hardware tab > click properties > select "do not use this device (disable)" in the device usage dropdown menu > click ok > wait for it to disable drive > re-enable dirve and you should be good to go. At that point, anyDVD notifies me that it is scanning the disk.

Of course you can also disable and re-enable the drive through device manager.

This bug is annoying but anyDVD works great so I happily take these few extra steps.

Nope, I am making a disk-less dvd library to stream through XBMC, so I sometimes backup my DVD’s assembly line style.
