AnyDVD Discuss, about isos at Copy Movie forum; I´m trying to use Nero to make some movies viewable on my DVD player. I usually end up with "Burning Rom". Will I be able to watch a movie recorded in Iso format or must I copy it to another format to play on my "player&

Re: about isos

Anyways if you'd make an iso image(dvd movie) and burn it with nero or imgburn for example you'd get after the process the video_ts and audio_ts folders with the needed video files on your disc, so that you can play your dvd on a standalone.

Re: about isos

An IS0 Image is a single large file that is a representation of the whole set of data and programs as it will appear on a CD or DVD. The main purpose of these are so there can be downloaded and then later put to disc, you can just pretend an ISO Image is a large Zip file that Nero will extract to your DVDR in an original DVD format that will play on most standalones.

@ Ladymargot,

Welcome to the Forum.

For clarification you cannot play (view) an ISO. The ISO needs to be “unpacked” to the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folder format before it can viewed.

That's why apps like imgburn etc. exists, no need to 'unpack' a created iso from a dvd movie, just burning the iso and all would be fine. But the definition is right that you can't watch it on a standalone when you're burning the iso as a data dvd.
@ Da sheep
That's right, but the case here is about playback on a dvd player.

I heard alot of people that have DL media that use image burn to create an iso dvd and then burn it with image burn and they are able to watch it on a stand alone player. Did I misunderstand what you were saying?

Yes.
Exactly that is what i've mentioned above. To create a data dvd is not the same like burning an iso image as an image.
