Re: 5.8.4.1 Broken

maybe the laser needs cleaning, i had the same problem with a cd player, & my brother (a tv engineer) cleaned the laser and it worked fine, worth a try.

or uninstall and reinstall the older version and see if it works, the newest version works ok for me.

Re: 5.8.4.1 Broken

I'm having the same problem you are describing when I use 1clickdvd Pro but not when I use the non-Pro version. The problem is I upgraded both anydvd and 1click Pro at the same time so I don't know which of the two is the problem. I was kinda leaning towards it being Pro since the regular 1clickdvd works fine. I need to try to go back to an earlier version of anydvd to try with Pro to see what happens but haven't had a chance yet.

Re: 5.8.4.1 Broken

@ publicx2001,

Suggest obtaining a DVD Software program specifically designed to play DVDs similar to either PowerDVD (http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/products/main_1_ENU.html) and/or WinDVD (http://www.intervideo.com/jsp/Home.jsp) to play DVDs on your computer.

From the very limited information you have provided in your previous postings in this thread it appears that your problem is caused by the use of poor quality blank DVD media to record your back up copy of your Commercial DVD Movie Title. Suggest visiting the CD Freaks Blank Media Forum (http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=33) to obtain information on obtaining known high quality blank DVD media.

Best Regards,
bjkg

Your problem is with backups or originals not playing?
Have you shut down AnyDVD and still have the same problem?
Did you exit AnyDVD before upgading to 5.8.4.1?

The suggestion by bjkg,to view the files with PowerDVD, is to determine if you have the same issues with the files that you have with the backup.

It's amazing how using up-to-date programs things work and when non supported, out of date programs are used, things go to Hell in a hand basket...

Yes - others have reported that with certain titles, AnyDVD's output from some protected sector encoded dvd's can cause problems with DVDShrink. CloneDVD2 does a better job of dealing with the error conditions it finds. Slysoft has made corrections to AnyDVD to address these issues before - and hopefully will again.

Re: 5.8.4.1 Broken

@ publicx2001,

Stating that you are using Maxell DVD+R 8X 4.7GB media does not actually provide information on the quality of the DVD media you are using. Maxell, like numerous other marketers of DVD media do not actually manufacture DVD media. They mass bulk purchase DVD media from various DVD media manufactures and then package the media and stamp their name on the package. Some of these DVD Media manufactures are located in off the wall third world countries and the quality of their media is suspect. The only way to truly know the quality of the Maxell media is identify the DVD media by the MID (Manufacture ID and media code) (Example:TYG02).

To obtain the MID (Manufacture ID and media code) of DVD media use a utility software program similar to DVD Identifier (http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com), DVDInfo (http://www.dvdinfopro.com), and/or Nero Info Tool (http://www.cdspeed2000.com/files/NeroInfoTool_301.zip).

As explained above Maxell DVD media can be manufacture by various DVD media manufactures, some of which are located in third world counties. It should be noted that some Maxell DVD media is very suspect in quality.

As suggested in my original posting in this thread visit the CD Freaks Blank Media Forum (http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=33) to obtain information on obtaining known high quality blank DVD media.

Best Regards,
bjkg
