Re: MediaCodeSpeedEdit support for Pioneer DVD-Writers

Sorry if this has been asked before but i skimmed through this thread and could find it, i change the TYG02 stratagy to TYG03 as 03 use's p-cav where 02 use's z-clv then save but when i run UPR111.exe it tells me fw is already lastest, am i ment to use something else to flash with ??

Re: MediaCodeSpeedEdit support for Pioneer DVD-Writers

The pioneer flasher does not allow to flash the same firmware version again. Use the flasher from the TDB package for the same firmware version instead.

On a 111L it will remove the 5x riplock for CSS encrypted Video disks. They will read 16x for single and 12x for dual layer disks. The read speed of other disks is not changed.

Thanks ala42!!! (new sig). Is there any hope to increase the +-R speed from 12.5 to 16x on Pio 111?

Locating the read speed setting in the firmware takes several days, so I probably will not try it.

Re: MediaCodeSpeedEdit support for Pioneer DVD-Writers

No, not really, as there is a slight difference between a riplock and a read speed patch

Re: MediaCodeSpeedEdit support for Pioneer DVD-Writers

i'm new to MCSE and i'm also a new owner of a Pioneer DVR-111D (now TDB DVR-111L 8.29). before flashing to 8.29, i tried speed patching it with MCSE but i dont think i did it right, as i'm currently ripping a pressed DVD at only 4.1x.

the TDB 8.29 firmware came with what appears to be the flashing utility and the firmware itself (R11FOIN and A0412541.829). i patched the A0412541.829 file, do i need to patch the other file as well? anyway, what i did was i patched the A0412541.829 file and it added a "speed patched" to the end of it. i renamed the original file and renamed the patched file to the original file and flashed my drive.

can someone tell me what i did wrong?

Just delete the original file and leave only the renamed patched file and try again

Hmm...so basically he should delete or move to another folder the original file "A0412541.829" and rename the file "A0412541_speedpatched.829" to "A0412541.829".

And second question, if we are at 8.19 (DVR-111L) do we just run MCSE, patch the 8.29 to "A0412541_speedpatched.829" and then just update firmware to "A0412541_speedpatched.829"? ...or do we need to run the "A0412541.829" firmware on the drive and then run the "A0412541_speedpatched.829" firmware on the drive?

Re: MediaCodeSpeedEdit support for Pioneer DVD-Writers

You can directly update 8.19 to a patched 8.29. Instead of renaming you can also overwrite the original file directly when saving the patched version.
