@ jacobean23,

Perhaps it would be beneficial if you explained EXACTY in DETAIL what you have done to your DVR-115D to remove the factory installed Firmware and mange to get your DVR-115D in the kernel mode.

The DVRFlash utility software program is a powerful program and if used incorrectly has the ability to damage a Drive beyond repair.

Re: DVRFlash 2.1 Released!

Where can I find a guide for this program? I'm trying to flash my DVR-115D with modified firmware from MCSE.

Already flashed it with the Pioneer factory 1.18 firmware.

Thanks

Hi PumaUK,

surely I had luck when accessing the forum.
Few hours later it was down again, sadly. I think the database requires a new re-built, that is why.

Thank you. Apparently I DID have it last night. I thought I would have to type a bunch of DOS stuff in DVRFlash. Cheers!

Re: DVRFlash 2.1 Released!

Oh and for any other Mac users that cant get the Mac OSX version of the DVRFlash program from the version 2.5.1 pack to work, do the following to the DVRFlash file:

chmod -x DVRFlash

Which makes it a terminal executable.

Re: DVRFlash 2.1 Released!

I can't seem to find a DVRFlash guide and I cannot register at RPC1 for some reason to ask over there. The guide _chef_ refers to is for MCSE and patching the Pioneer flasher (I think); not for using DVRFlash. Here's what I'm trying to determine:

If I flash a 215D to 215L using MCSE patched firmware, can I go back using the stock (or patched) 215D firmware and kernel? Not sure why or if I'd want or need to, but I'd like to know before I flash the drive just in case. I have S0814000.118 and S0814001.118 which I believe are the 215D firmware and kernel files, yes?

After patching, MCSE saves the files with "_speedpatched" added to the name. Can I flash (with DVRFlash) with that name or do I need to rename the file back to its original 8.3 name?

With all the disclaimers about patching voiding the warranty, assuming the answer to my first question is that you CAN go back to the original firmware, doesn't that mitigate the voided warranty situation?

Thanks.

Ray

Re: DVRFlash 2.1 Released!

Actually no one can register to rpc1 forum, its been worked on. Sorry.
You can browse the rpc1 forum too and I'm sure you will find the info you seek. Else ask there or here.
