| "device not ready (incompatible medium installed)" I get this error when I use ImgBurn, and it doesn't read the disc. I tried like 4 discs but it won't read any. 2 of them were burned with this burner. (i'm using verbatim media). yesterday my power supply was burned so when it was switched i guess some cables were moved or something, could it cause this? (the computer reconizes the DVD burner) thanks! |

| Re: "device not ready (incompatible medium installed)" Yes. Double check the cables. If in doubt, replace them and use an 80 wired one. Michael

| Re: "device not ready (incompatible medium installed)" In a case like what happenned to your PSU, it could be that either your IDE ports or your drives or your cable are burnt too. Try first changing your cable as suggested, connecting only one drive at a time to help identify the culprit. You could also install your units in another computer to see if they work there.

| Re: "device not ready (incompatible medium installed)" Dogster - Since there is some question if your IDE Channels are configured correctly suggest using Nero Info Tool (http://www.cdspeed2000.com/files/NeroInfoTool_403.zip) and under the “Configuration Tab” post the information that is displayed.
