Can't flash 110d after 8.37 flash

I flashed my 110d with the buffalo 8.37, all went fine. It had been flashed as a10 before that and all was well. My burns were very marginal so I decided to go back to official 1.37 and start over.
I am not able to flash back to 1.37 or any other , e.g. 1.17, 1.22, etc. I can still flash different buffalo firmwares as you can see I flashed it to 8.22. from 8.37.
Here is wat I get with DVRupdate

And here is what I get using DVRflash
M:\shared\ZIP\pioneer110d\DVRFlash_v2.1\win32>dvrflash -fv D: rb100011.122 rb100111.122

Reading firmware 'rb100111.122'...

Drive Information:
Description : PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-110D
Firmware Rev : 8.22
Firmware Date : 05/09/13
Manufacturer : PIONEER
Drive is in normal mode.

Additional Drive Information:
Serial Number : EKDC779501WL
Interface type : ATA
DVR generation : 0011
Kernel type : OEM_INT
Normal type : OEM_INT
Kernel version : 0002

Status : RPC-1 (region free)

The PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-110D is not supported by this utility - Aborting

If I use DRVflash from Real DOS, it cannot find the DVR drive (yes, I loaded aspi.sys). If I use it with the device number, 0.0.0, it finds the drive but does not think it is a DVR. The Description is blank, the serial number is messed up, but the fw version is correct as is most other information. The error message identifies the bad device a "11/03".
Any suggestions?

If I were you I would have just left it at 8.37.

Anyway, you need to use the -vff command for that type of flash. I don't know if -ffv works.

Ok, I tried with the -vff and get the same thing. Seems something has messed it up along the way.

I've only had the drive a few days and have not been at all happy with the burns. I am thinking it is the drive and certainly wanted to get it back to original if I happen to try and return it.

What MID codes are you using? My 110 burners better than my 1640 on most discs. I've downgraded my 1640 to ripper/scanner

Re: Can't flash 110d after 8.37 flash

I have a 110D that was originally 1.17

I crossflashed with dvrflash ages ago to TDB Buffalo 1.37 f/w

I just flashed back with the -vff command line in a dos window to both stock 1.37 and 1.22 pioneer firmwares

No troubles at all

I just reflashed back again to TDB buffalo 1.37 f/w

Perhaps its your drive or pc ? Have you tried the drive in another pc ?

Test burns have been with MCC 03RG20 & TYG03. When scanned on the Benq 1640 huge pie/pif and sometimes poe. It's mostly at the beginning 1gb, where often jitter will go from zero at times then spike up. Even the last part of the disc doesn't look great, unless, compared to the first part.
Funny thing is it reads very well, I've had a couple of old discs that the Benq cannot read and the 110 had no problem.

anon - I haven't tried it on another pc, I might try that. I'm thinking that is not the issue as I can still flash between different 8.xx versions with no problem.

Yep, only DVRFlash 2.2 would work, not earlier versions.
