It sounds like the drive is not supported @ UDMA 4 on your system.

AOPC can be switched off with a firmware tweak on this chipset, but doing this will just result in coasters.

Thanks, TerminalVeloCD. I don't normally burn @ 18X on the 112 but it is certainly capable.
