Asus / Pioneer Burner Discuss, Best fw for Taiyo Yuden 16x on Pioneer 109? at CD and DVD Burners forum; I no longer can find the Plextor DVD+R 8x for my 109, so I'll have to buy 16x. I'd better update my firmware as it's an old version 1.40 - never saw the use in updating as I only used Plextor TY and those burned perfectly.

Best fw for Taiyo Yuden 16x on Pioneer 109?

So which firmware version should I use for Plextor DVD+R 16x Yuden000T03? It's not unheard of that with some firmwares some discs burn poorer than the previous firmware revision, that's why I thought I'd ask before just slapping the latest revision on.

Thanks!

Re: Best fw for Taiyo Yuden 16x on Pioneer 109?

Thanks! I located fw 1.58 and tried to download it into the drive.

In the package there's 2 firmware files and an exe file, the tool to do the upgrade.

When I start this tool it says "Detect the Intel's IDE driver. Available target is not found".

I'm running W2K, latest chipset drivers on an Asus TUSL-2C mainboard, where the DVR-109 is attached as a master.

Any idea why it's not detected?

Thanks!
