Asus / Pioneer Burner Discuss, Which is the best firmware to flash 108?? at CD and DVD Burners forum; I would like to know which is the best firmware to flash a pioneer 108. I notices there are three available, Nil's, Piodata's with bitsetting and of course the original. I am interested mostly for full compatibility and quality speed comes on a second basis. Which is the best firmware to flash 108??

I would like to know which is the best firmware to flash a pioneer 108. I notices there are three available, Nil's, Piodata's with bitsetting and of course the original. I am interested mostly for full compatibility and quality speed comes on a second basis. At the moment i am using 1.10 original firmware and i get a lot af coaster (buffer underun occured) with taiyo yuden Tooo1 disks. What could it be wrong?

Thank you

full compatibility is impossible; with >NIL you'll get region-free, with official you'll get, well not much , with piodata you'll get bitsetting for single layer and dual layer but region-lock. you decide

Yeah, but bitsetting for DL to DVD-ROM booktype comes with all firmwares by standard. :-D

Re: Which is the best firmware to flash 108??

I am a little confused. I am in region 2 so if i flash my drive with piodata firmware will it remain region 2 or it will only support region 1? As far as quality is concerned which is the best? Compatibility?
Thanx

Piodata 1.14 is the same as original Pioneer for quality, but is more compatible since SL DVD+R is bitset to DVD-ROM. If you have a DVD-ROM drive to rip and play multi-region DVD then this is the best firmware since you aren't concerned with over-clocking the media.

I want the copies to be capable of being played to region 2 desktop players. Will Piodata do that?

This has nothing to do with the region...
