Asus / Pioneer Burner Discuss, Asus 1814BL at CD and DVD Burners forum; I just got one of these drives for lightscribing. I attempted to do a "quality scan" in cdspeed and it actually started working. What my question is: 1. Is this a rebadged drive? If yes, who actually makes it? 2. Do Pioneer make drives and Asus rebadges them or is

Asus 1814BL

I just got one of these drives for lightscribing.

I attempted to do a "quality scan" in cdspeed and it actually started working.

What my question is:

1. Is this a rebadged drive? If yes, who actually makes it?
2. Do Pioneer make drives and Asus rebadges them or is it the other way around?

Thanks

Re: Asus 1814BL

This drive is made by ASUS and uses a MediaTek chipset. The last DVD writers sold under the ASUS name were made by Pioneer.
