| Won\'t burn DVD\'s (NEC ND-3100A)
My NEC DVD RW ND-3100AD will not burn a DVD. I downloaded the NEC Drive Conversion tool, and 3500 Bitsetting firmware 2.98 (I don\'t have a clue what these things really are) - but I don\'t know how to download them to update my burner. Or, is an update my problem? It is a 5 year old Dell Dimension. Any help would be appreciated. | |

| Re: My NEC DVD won't burn DVD's I would recommend getting the latest (or any) firmware that is available from Dell and using that firmware only. Especially if you are not familiar. Aside from that, why are you trying to update the drive?

| Re: My NEC DVD won't burn DVD's I am trying to update the drive, because it won't burn DVD's. And after reading some other threads on the topic it seemed like that was the thing to do. So, I downloaded firmware, etc., but I don't know how to install it all. |

| Re: My NEC DVD won't burn DVD's If it was my drive, I would first use the drive converter and convert it to NEC ND-3500A. Then I would download one of the 2.1B firmwares for the ND-3500A and Binflash 32Bit GUI version for flashing it. In case flashing is too complicated for you, a look at this flashing guide should help
