| NEC 2510A RW & Dual Layer Disk & TMPGEnc I'm new to the site, and I apologise if this is a repeated question. I recently installed a NEC 2510A DVD drive into my Dell Dimension 4600. I was trying to burn a dvd which is around 7.0 GB and was using the TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 programme. At first the problem was when it came to writing the file onto dvd, it said that the media is faulty so I updated the firmware to 2.16 but now an error message comes up saying "Internal Error- DVD Drive Fatal" But the funny thing is when I burnt a different file onto a 4.7GB disk, there was no problem, it only occurs with a Dual Layer disk. The two disks I was use were the "Datasafe DVD+R DL 8.5GB" & the "RiDisc DVD+R DL 8.5 GB" but both fail to write using the TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 programme. Can somebody tell what has gone wrong or if I need to upgrade the firmware. Many Thanks in advance ![]() |

| Re: NEC 2510A RW & Dual Layer Disk & TMPGEnc Welcome to the forum. The 2510A does not yet support RITEK D01 DL (Ridisc) media. A new firmware will be released in the future to support these discs on the 2510A. What is the MID of the "Datasafe" disc? If it is an MKM disc, it is supported in the 2510A firmware. If TMPGEnc refuses to burn it, try using DVDDecrypter to burn.

| Re: NEC 2510A RW & Dual Layer Disk & TMPGEnc Sure, Verbatim DVD+R DL discs will work fine with the current firmware. ![]()
