Yeah, those drives are "orange"/"new poduct" at alternate.de for ages now. Can't wait to see the inside somewhere on the web. I assume it won't be the NEC MC-10042/MC-10041 chip, since the Pioneer DVR-212L/112L also has LF and somehow I think that Pioneer would have realeased a LS drive instead of a LF drive if LS would be in that chip as well. Anyway...  Thanks for the information!

| Re: CDFreaks presents: The Sony AW-G170A preview Hi, we have one AW-G170A which has a few problems: 1. Max good CD writing speed is x8, more then 8 causes unreadible disk 2. Bad writing DVD+R DL Ricoh - never minde x2,4 x4 x8. Changing firmware to 173 did not help, changing firmware to Optiarc 7170 v1.04 resolves only the second problem. Another one, now my drive is Optiarc instead Sony, and Nero (Sony OEM) wont work... So, question is: how to modify optiarc bin file, is enough to change "optiarc" to "sony" words inside - or we have to modify some CRC also? |
