I just upgraded to Nero 8.2.8.0 from the previous version and have a problem with recode. When I recode a movie for use on my Ipod Touch there's an audible sound distortion throughout the movie. When there's just dialogue it's very faint but when there's music playing in the movie it becomes very noticeable.

I don't know if this plays a part in it but I've noticed when I imported the movies into itunes and looked at the general tab the bit seemed low compared to other movies and videos I've imported that are much shorter(I'm not talking about the total bitrate on the right side but the one the left) the bitrate is only 23kbps.

Also on the audio tab in recode it says the source is Dolby digital 5.1 and the target is AAC which is grayed out and can't be changed.

What's the deal Am I going have roll back to a previous version? Or even go back to Nero 7? I seemed to have had more options in recode in Nero 7 for putting stuff on my ipod compared to Nero 8.

I hear ya loud and clear. I logged into My Nero (created an account) to find similar issues. It appears we're not alone: Audio bug when encoding MPEG4 with Nero 8 (Recode 3)

Since I have just purchased Nero 8 I can't roll back and I want to use the AVC encoding abilities. I did have sucess using AC3 audio instead of the AAC conversion but only Showtime will play the file. Some people have suggested a clean reinstall- I can't go down that road...
