No sound in movies with ac3 sound - Club CDFreaks

When I try to convert avi movies with ac3 sound in them, I do not get any sound. The preview in NeroVision will not give any sound either. Do I need to install a particular codec to recode and play these files. The movies play fine on my computer with Windows Media Player so a codec for playing must be present.
