Nero Recode - DVD9 to DVD5

I am using ver 7 on a Vista machine and when I go to backup one of my larger DVDs using Nero Recode I get the following message:

"Not enough free space on device to accomodate this compilation. Do you want to Recode to attempt to reduce the bitrate by selecting a lower target size?"

I select yes and Nero immediately comes back with:

"Could not reduce the bitrate sufficiently."

Any suggestions or ideas?

Re: Nero Recode - DVD9 to DVD5

Lower right side of 1st box, check fit to target and select DVD5 in the drop down box.

Re: Nero Recode - DVD9 to DVD5

i also have this problem. the thing is, the contents on the DVD9 is already compressed.
even with the lowest bitrate nero can handle, it cant fit the contents of the dvd9 to one dvd5.

a followup question to everyone here: (the solution for me was to use DVDfab)
is there a way nero can automaticaly split the entire contents of dvd9 to two dvd5 discs...same way as DVDfab does it.

Try setting the target size to custom, and choose a target size slightly larger than DVD5. (IE: 4470) process, then reprocess with target size set to standard DVD5. (It is a glich that's been around since Recode was DVDShrink.)
