How can I make Recode 2 Compress again?

I do not know what happened but I have changed NO settings. I use DVD Decrypter and then have Nero 6 use Recode 2 to compress and Burn. No problems and it has worked fine for a while now. All of a sudden, Recode is now reporting that the file (from DVD Decrypter) is too big. All the checkmarks are there to fit to DVD5, etc. What could have happened?

Thanks for any ideas.

Not sure if this is what you mean but recode (and shrink) have a problem on a few films. They will not compress the data past a certain point so you cannot shrink it down to fit on a dvd5 disc. what you have to do is set a custom size just bigger than what recode or shrink is reporting (if it won't let you compress). Then after it compresses once, just reload it again and run it thru a 2nd time set back to dvd5.

Sometimes DVD2one does the same thing but it will compress it regardless and just make it too big for a dvd5 disc. A 2nd pass will bring it on down. Another thing is to try and remove other languages or previews and see if it is small enough to go.

Thank you, I never had this happen before. DCDShrink>Nero works just fine, but takes longer!

Re: How can I make Recode 2 Compress again?

I am afraid something else is going on. 24 Season 4 disk 1 and 2 were fine. Then, starting with disk 3 and now 4, it will not compress with Recode. I just tried 21 Grams and get the same. However, DVDShrink>Nero still works. I keep wondering what I broke.
