"DVD-Video files reallocation failed" Dear community... I have ripped the main video files and .bup files from a dvd using dvd decrypter. Now when I come to burn the dvd with nero using the default settings I get a message saying "required file '%s' is not present" and then one saying "DVD-Video files reallocation failed." If i continue to burn the dvd regardless then the resulting DVD does not play on either my PC or DVD player although i can play the .vob files from the DVD using windows media player. I have also tried using "copytodvd" which burnt a dvd with matching characteristics (although it didnt show any error messages). Please help i am confused... Thank you... Will

Re: "DVD-Video files reallocation failed" Is it Nero 6.3.15? Try uninstalling it, Use Nero's clean tool http://www.nero.com/us/631938356101755.html and Install 6.3.10.

Re: "DVD-Video files reallocation failed" Why does this happen though ? Is it a Nero bug ? I have same problem and do not understand what the message actually means. When I used DVD Shrink to create ISO and then burn it is fine, but using DVD Rebuilder (I want best quality) I get this error. Someone please explain.

| Re: "DVD-Video files reallocation failed" I am having this same problem trying to run 6.3.1.10 When i go to burn video files using the default DVD-Video program it tells me "DVD-Video files reallocation failed. The resulting DVD-Video might not be playable. Required file VTS_01_0.VOB is not present." even though it's there. When i try to burn it anyway i get about 1% before it freezes on me and i have to cold boot just to shut down the program. I can't burn using Nero Burning ROM either. | Re: "DVD-Video files reallocation failed" Hello All - I could not help but to respond to the thread after reading it, applying a suggestion that was brought up, trying it and making it work. I updated DVD Shrink to the 3.2 version and received the same "DVD-Video Files reallocation failed" message multiple times. I uninstalled it and reinstalled the version below 3.2 of DVD Shrink. I've been burning without a single problem since downgrading from DVD Shrink 3.2 (which by the way uses NERO to burn to DVD). I hope this solution helps others who had the same problems. ![]() |

Re: "DVD-Video files reallocation failed" I too get the same error in Nero "dvd files reallocation failed....." after reading some posts, I tried the following (and it worked): - I deleted or otherwise removed ALL files from VIDEO_TS folder except the actual movie files (*.VOB) - I downloaded, unzipped and ran IFOEDIT, then clicked on "Create IFO" button, and pointed to the first VTS_01_1.VOB file. - after a few minutes IFOEDIT examined the whole folder and created 4 new files (two IFOs and two BUPs) After this Nero burned this DVD without an error. hope this helps someone

Re: "DVD-Video files reallocation failed" Hi guys I guess you are not ripping correctly your dvds and that's all. Try DVD decrypter in file mode and check you have all the ifos and bups before trying to recode with nero

The problem may be that all the streams are not available in your vob's. I had this problem, I re-decypted ALL files and Nero burnt them without a peep. (I had earlier ripped only one of the audio steams, but the ifo told Nero to look for 4 audio streams)

Re: "DVD-Video files reallocation failed" if all it says is "reallocation failed" you dont have to decrypt anything, just ignore it and burn it anyway. i had the same problem with a DVD release of An American Haunting, i ignored it burnt it anyway using nero 7.0.8.2, my computer played it with VLC (video lan) best multiplayer EVER!!!(you can even drop image files into it and it will play the movie; it started as a school project, lol) thats beside the point, just burn it, and play it on your dvd player see what happens, it worked on mine.

| Re: "DVD-Video files reallocation failed" FWIW, I was re-encoding some MPEG's to author a DVD-Video and had that "reallocation failed" warning when I used Nero Burning ROM to actually do the burning. For me the solution was to free up some space where Nero Recode was storing it's temp files and the final VIDEO_TS folder. I think I had like 7GB free, but then free'd about 9GB just to be on the safe side. After that, things "reallocated" fine.

Re: "DVD-Video files reallocation failed" Delete your serial number from Nero. Someone could hi-jack it. Run FixVTS on the files and your problem will be solved. http://download.videohelp.com/FixVTS/

Re: "DVD-Video files reallocation failed" someone said just burn it anyway , on recode it wont let me do this. Only option is to burn same project again , which wont work or start new project. As for not ripping correctly i tried any dvd, then dvd decrypter , seems some of my dvds are fine but randomly ones wont work , i was using nero 6 so upgraded to newest, still got problem. Im assuming its a large problem if a lot of people are struggling , i just downloaded fixvts , gonna give that a blast

Re: "DVD-Video files reallocation failed" I, too, was experiencing the same problem of "DVD-video files reallocation failed." In my case I was using AnyDVD 6.1.0.1, DVDShrink 3.2.0.15, and Nero Express 6.6.0.18. Like a few on this and other threads had suggested, I went ahead and burned the DVD, even though the warning said it might not play properly. Well, in fact the DVD would not play correctly . . . it kept looping back to the beginning during the opening credits. So, I took the cynthia_old's advice and tried FixVTS. Only took about 5-10 minutes to run the files through the FixVTS software. I then burned the DVD with no problems at all . . . and now it plays correctly. Thank you cynthia_old. You've helped me in the past and now you've helped me on this problem.

Re: "DVD-Video files reallocation failed" If you are having this problem when using DVD shrink... Open DVD Shrink... go to EDIT at the top, then click on preferences... while in preferences, find the block in there that says something like "seperate video in 1GB size Chunks" make sure that this box is checked... if not, check it and try burning again. This should solve your problem. It worked for me.
