how come when i use an DVD-R disc it burnes fine but with an DVD+R it fails?

Several problems for you.

Firstly this:-
You must enable DMA to get decent burns. Download the VBS script in my sig and execute it with Explorer.

Secondly I don't like the 2.4x burn speed shown. If you selected this then that was a mistake. However, if you were only offered this I'd suggest that the burner doesn't recognise the +R media.

Burn 8x media at 8x and 16x media at 12x or even as low as 8x but not so low as 2.4x.

For the +R media I'd suggest Verbatim 16x burned at 12x as a very good choice.

yea i chose 2x i guess i though it would be better

as for Verbatim yea i'll look for those disc next time cause the only one that i seem to like is Office Depot DVD-R and TDK DVD+R as of now. Also i love Verbatim for enableing me to ReWrite there discs. what i was using that gave me this error was Sony DVD+R
