Why can't I select lower burn speed in ECDC6? - Club CDFreaks

Hi there,

This has really been driving me crazy. When I put a Memorex DVD+RW 4x in the BTC 1004 v47, ECDC6 only gives me the option to burn at 4x. I thought the BTC can only burn DVD+RW at 2x? I'd like to try burning the DVD+RW at 2x but it doesn't give me the option.

I can't successfully burn the movie at 4x on the DVD+RW, although I can at 4x with the Memorex DVD+R.

Any idea?

With the latest firmware updates the drive can burn +rw at 4x
(to media supporting this speed ofcourse).Some softwares, also
NERO , choose by default the more optimized write speed.

thanks for the info regarding burning some +RW at 4x. i didn't know that. however, since I ended up with problems burning it at 4x, i'd like to try it at 2x. do you know of any reason why either the ECDC6 software, or the burner/memorex dvd+rw combo won't allow me to select a lower speed?

(i'll also check out nero to see if it will give me the option)
