| For those having problems enabling DMA in Windows.. try this.. A while back I had this problem of Windows sometimes turning off DMA and going to PIO mode on my drives.. This has happened sometimes on my BTC1008IM.. this might help solve the problem.. First off I am running Windows XP.. I have done this in both SP1 and SP2.. If everything u do still does not enable DMA despite having chosen "DMA if Available" what I do is uninstall the entire Secondary IDE Channel (assuming your drives are installed here) After this I restart Windows reinstalls this automatically and usually sets my devices for DMA.. try it if you've tried everything.. |
