Slow BTC 1008 on Win2K but Normal in WinXP!!!

Hi
I have a BTC 1008 DVD RW. When I try to burn with nero on win2k on x4 speed it starts burning but it takes about 60 minutes (than means it is burning on x1 speed ?).
On the other hand using WinXP Pro it burns normally in as it should in about 15 min.
Why is that?

Hello athan00,

please check if DMA is correctly actived in your Windows 2000 installation. If PIO mode is selected, your drive won´t work with full speed! ;-)

Good luck!

True. Windows 2000 doesn't default-enable DMA modes for ATAPI devices.

Need a guide to turning it on?

Try here.. Not exactly for Win2k but near enough for you to turn it on without problems.
